Why has the BJP led NDA government raised the price of petrol and diesel when international price of crude has come down to 98 dollars per barrel

The Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak has launched a scathing attack on the Bhartiya Janata Party and the BJP led NDA government including prime minister Narendra Modi for raising the prices of Petrol, diesal and commercial gas despite the crude oil/ brent price coming down costing 98 US dollar a Barrel in international Market.

She ridiculed the statement of prime minister Narendra Modi in a rally few days ago when he had said that there is no crisis of petro products in the county and that there won’t be any inflation in the country but despite the international price of crude oil coming down to 98 Dollar per barrel from 111 Dollars earlier, the rates of the petrol and diesel are being spiked.

She asked why it is so ? Not only the PM but the union home minister Amit Shah and union petrolium minister were also replicating the same statement that all is well in the country and there is no need to worry. They said our oil reserves are full and therefore no need to worry .

Addressing a press conference today vociferous Ragini Nayak asked I have a question for the prime minister : if all is well and there is no need for countrymen to worry on the petro products front then why is it that despite the international price of crude being lessened to 98 US dollars per barrel the petrol and diesal rates are being increased.

She catagorically asked why has the petrol and diesel rates increased to Rs. 8 and 7.80 respectively during the last 11 days ?

She accused the government of charging a staggering excise duty on petroleum and diesal to the tune of Rs. 43 lakh crores.

Why is the government not providing relief to the countrymen from this massive recovered amount as excise duty of Petroleum and diesal questioned the Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak in her press conference, today.
