Kishore opposes the Uttarakhand govt’s decision to keep Indramani Badooni out of Gaurav Samman list

Finally the government of Uttarakhand has decided to decorate five eminent personalities of Uttarakhand with its first ever prestigious honour known as UTTARAKHAND GAURAV AWARD with legendary politician and former UP, Uttarakhand chief minister and several times union minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari being awarded posthumously. The other four awardees of Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman on twenty first anniversary of Uttarakhand Foundation day announced by the BJP government are eminent environmentalist n Padmashree Dr. Ani Joshi, legendary singer, lyricist and musician Narendra Singh Negi, popular and reputed veteran literally writer and author of several books n columnist Ruskin Bond and first women climber of the highest Himalayan peak Bachendri Pal. This was announced yesterday evening by the secretary In-charge general administration of Uttarakhand government Vinod Kumar Suman. Meanwhile the Uttarakhand speaker has also felicitated 21 leading social activists on Uttarakhand Foundation Day at Dehradun. The former Uttarakhand Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay has Expressed his serious objection criticising the BJP government saying that the Uttar government has forgotten the crusader of separate Uttarakhand movement the Gandhi of the Himalayan state whose entire life had been dedicated to fight relentlessly for the cause of Uttarakhand especially fighting for the separate Uttarakhand state. In a statement Uttarakhand’s former Congress chief Kishore Upadhyay said that in his opinion no other legendary figure could compare late Indra Mani Badooniji whose entire life was dedicated to Uttarakhand finally achieving Uttarakhand separate state after protracted struggle. He gave up political ambitions and dedicated himself through out his life to get Uttarakhand a separate entity said Kishore Upadhyay. He has written to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami that he will correct his error and reconsider the name of this most prestigious legend of Uttarakhand.
