CJP Chief Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Daas, Ranka And Legal Head Ratna Singh Detained From Plane, Taken To Unknown Destination; Brinda Karat Among Hundreds Detained At Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: In a dramatic development ahead of the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar demanding resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Delhi Police on Saturday detained the top leadership of the CJP.
According to information, CJP leaders trio Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Daas and Asutosh Ranka including its Chief of Legal Team Ratna Singh were detained inside the aeroplane in which they had arrived in Delhi.
The renowned international You tuber Dhruv Rathi has also been arrested from his house at Gurugram.
Delhi Police personnel, including women officers, entered the aircraft and took them into buses to an unknown destination.
CJP Chief Abhijit Dipke started making a video inside the plane saying “We have come here to get arrested. We are not afraid of arrests” but expressed shock over police entering the plane to arrest youth leaders, saying such action had never happened earlier.
The CJP leadership has been accusing CEC Gyanesh Kumar of being responsible for deletion of votes of 13 crore people in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), terming it as snatching constitutional rights.
Meanwhile, former MP and CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat and activist Govinda have also been detained, sources said.
Despite heavy police bandobast, multi-layer barricading of entire New Delhi, prohibitory orders under Section 163 BNSS, closure of metro stations and deployment of thousands of policemen and RAF personnel, hundreds of protesters managed to reach Jantar Mantar from the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara side.
Youth and student groups said they were annoyed and angry for not being allowed to protest peacefully. AISF activists and several advocates who were marching towards Jantar Mantar were also arrested.
Reporters, except for a negligible number, are not being allowed to report from ground zero. The entire New Delhi area remains barricaded.
Despite the deployment of over 5,000 personnel and 20 companies of CAPF, the presence of enthusiastic Gen Z activists near Jantar Mantar is increasing.
The detentions come hours after the Supreme Court on Friday barred complete closure of metro and train services in Delhi, observing that “You can’t use a sledgehammer to kill a fly” and directing that metro services must run in a suitably regulated manner to avoid inconvenience to the public.
Delhi Police is yet to issue an official statement on the total number of detentions and the place where CJP leaders have been taken.
The entire shops and private offices including today being Saturday all the government offices are closed.
In addition to all this, the net services in the radius of four kilometres from Jantar Mantar have been stopped.
There are also reports that the people at railway stations arriving from the train are being stopped to move further or are being minutely checked to ensure that they are not going to participate in the demonstrations.
One of the journalists claiming himself to be an independent journalist is reporting from India Gate expressing his apprehension that he may be arrested as the police is trying to instruct journalists from reporting from ground zero and even allegedly detaining them.
