Three young bravehearts martyred at Siachin under -60 degree temperature

Massive avalanche hits army base camp in Siachen, 3 soldiers martyred, were patrolling in -60 degrees
A heartbreaking incident happened on Tuesday, 9 September in Siachen Glacier of Ladakh where three Indian Army soldiers lost their lives due to heavy snowstorm (avalanche).
The incident took place at the high-altitude base camp in Siachen where the jawans were buried under snow and debris due to sudden snowfall.
All three bodies were recovered after the rescue operation. The accident has shocked the entire country. Siachen Glacier is located on the Karakoram mountain range and its height is believed to be around 20 thousand feet.
Many soldiers have been martyred here earlier also due to avalanches. Even in extreme cold, soldiers remain deployed to protect the country.
India has maintained its hold on Siachen since launching Operation Meghdoot in 1984.
Since then the army is stationed here in difficult conditions.
It is being told that these soldiers were from the Mahar Regiment. These included soldiers from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Jharkhand.
They were trapped in the avalanche for about 5 hours and later died. Among them, an Army Captain has also been rescued.
Earlier in the year 2021, two soldiers were martyred due to an avalanche in Sub-Sector Hanif. At that time, the rest of the soldiers were rescued in a rescue operation that lasted for 6 hours.
The maximum number of soldiers were martyred in the year 2022. That year, 7 soldiers died due to avalanche in Kameng sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
Their bodies were not found for many days. Apart from this, a major avalanche also occurred in 2019, in which 4 soldiers and 2 porters lost their lives. They were patrolling at an altitude of about 18 thousand feet.
