47 rescued and five trapped inside the snow debris in avalanche hit Mana area near Badrinath rescued by Army and ITBP jawans. Four dead

The highly dedicated ITBP and Indian Army team’s rescue operation is in full swing in Mana avalanche hit areas where several persons including the army men have been trapped under the snow in the massive avalanche. The Mana border village in Garhwal where this avalanche occured , is fully engulfed in several feet snow.

According to the latest news about fourteen persons out of total twenty two trapped under the avalanche of Mana have been rescued by our dedicated ITBP and Army personel. Four of the left out under the snow avalanche debris are declared dead. Till now in all 47 persons have been rescued. The snow is ten to twelve feet deep. They have been brought to Joshimath safe but are in hospitals being treated.

The balance 5 who are still untraceable after the avalanche are being searched relentlessly by the army and ITBP rescue teams.

These grim moments make us realise the enormous life saving job being done by our bravehearts from the Army & ITBP.

Our heart goes out to the trapped workers in the avalanche tragedy near Mana in #Badrinath. Hope they recover safely with the least possible damages. Our prayers for all who are injured and strength to the ones who are engaged in the on ground rescue mission.

The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had convened the meeting of the top officials of all the concerned departments instructing them to expedite the rescue operation.

He spoke to prime minister Narendra Modi on the phone and informed him about the rescue operations being carried out to safely evacuate the workers trapped in Mana of Chamoli district.

The prime minister sought the detailed information on the situation of rain and snowfall in the state. During this conversation, the Prime Minister assured that the central government will provide all possible assistance to deal with any emergency said the chief minister.

He added that during the rescue operation being carried out the workers trapped in the avalanche near Mana, 14 other workers have also been rescued safely. The rescued workers are being provided better health facilities. 3 seriously injured workers have been sent to Army Hospital, Jyotirmath for treatment.

A total of 47 workers have been successfully rescued so far. Efforts are being made to evacuate other trapped workers as soon as possible said the chief minister Dhami. In order to personally supervise the rescue operation the chief minister visited the avalanche affected area near Mana in Chamoli district and took stock of the relief and rescue operations going on at the spot.

During this, he enquired about the well-being of the workers who were evacuated safely. After getting detailed information from the military officers and administrative teams engaged in the rescue work, he gave necessary instructions.

The government is fully committed to provide all possible help to the affected people in this hour of crisis. The safety of the affected workers is our top priority. The administration, army and SDRF teams are continuously engaged in relief work said Pushkar Singh Dhami through a post on X.

The chief minister also conducted an aerial survey of the avalanche area near Mana in Chamoli district.

After this, necessary instructions were also given to the officials so that relief and rescue work could be carried out quickly and effectively. Our government is working promptly for the safety and assistance of the affected workers assured chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
