Fake testings in Mahakumbh, Haridwar put a question mark on the ruling party when elections are round the corner

The speculations about the alleged fake testings in Haridwar Kumbh in Uttarakhand in the month of April has finally opened the lid of fresh controversy with the former and present chief ministers of Uttarakhand confronting each other with charges n counter charges trying to put the buck on each other about the serious lapses thus allegedly escaping their respective accountabilities.

The media hype has further added fuel to fire over this hectic controversy amounting to bringing bad name to the ruling saffron party in the state going to elections in the initial months of 2022 with main opposition Congress trying to take maximum political advantage despite it also being in a state of intercine squabbles n factionalism.

This massive fake testing episode in Haridwar Mahakumbh during the month of April coming to the fore with Indian Medical Association raising it to the utter shock of countrymen compelling the Uttarakhand government to order an impartial high level probe has undoubtedly substantiated the claims of the media regarding Mahakumbh being the super spreader of dreaded pandemic recording roughly 1.3 lakh infections during April as per the report of news portal ” The Quint”.

According to various reports, about 50 thousand to 1 lakh alleged fake testing reports were sold against handsome monetary benefits by three testing labs involved in these Covid tests in Haridwar though allegations denied by some of them.

The startling revelation was made by a person of another state who got a message on his phone about a fake test report who reported the matter to IMA.

The matter was thereafter brought to the knowledge of Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat who ordered for an impartial enquiry though putting the blame on the former CM saying that he had assumed the CM’s charge in the month of March etc.

This led to a direct confrontation between the present n former CMs passing on the buck on each other, thus escaping from the responsibilities. The former CM termed this fake testing revelations as an extremely serious matter demanding a transparent n honest impartial enquiry to bring the real culprits to book. The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat too has earned that anyone found involved in this fake testing will not be spared at any cost and realty with severely. We won’t spare the guilty said exasperated Rawat.

Meanwhile the present minister on forests of Uttarakhand Harak Singh Rawat has come to the rescue of the incumbent CM Tirath Singh Rawat saying that it is useless to blame the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat as he himself is today a Bechara and ordinary MLA divested of his chief ministership.

Let the impartial probe give its report, the real picture will come forward he added.

It may be recalled that three companies were found to be culprit in this fake testings say various news reports, with two of them refuting the allegations.

There have been complaints that these lab employees in collusion with the authorities used to give fake negative reports of RTPCR tests against handsome amount thus allowing them to participate in the Mahakumbh n spreading the dreaded pandemic.

There had been about 700 Covid related fatalities in Haridwar during the month of April though this figure seems to be quite squeezed. Thousands of saints n pilgrims were seen in pictures taking bath on Shahi Snan day and thereafter as well without wearing masks and maintaining physical distance as per Covid regulatory norms.

It was only after the Mahakumbh in which more than a crore pilgrims participated throwing to winds all Covid 19 norms that Uttarakhand n other parts of the country witnessed surge in Covid 19 figures with fatalities too rising tremendously.

Meanwhile, a leading analyst, activist and former chief of 108 ambulance services of Uttarakhand Anoop Nautiyal has said that the massive fake testing scam has deeply deteriorated the reputation and image of Uttarakhand. We need to improve our reputation by averting this huge blunder. The need of the hour is to put forward transparently all the Covid related death n other data to regain the confidence of the people that has been badly shattered. This positive action and attitude on the part of the health authorities n the govt of Uttarakhand will be highly appreciated n lauded failing which the consequences of this would be disastrous added Nautiyal.
