A socio political activist living in Dehradun , quite active in social media and considered to be extremely vocal and outspoken with good connections especially in Congress though in other parties as well, Bhavna Pandey has been duped by an imposter posing himself to be Kanishk, a PA of Congress leader and LOP Rahul Gandhi of Rs. 25 Lakhs assuring her to get her the Congress ticket of MLA in the state elections due for 2027 obviously from a constituency where her chances to win would be brighter. There were also plans to destabilise the Congress chief of Uttarakhand Ganesh Godiyal said the news report being circulated in social media.
The news is going viral in social media and the newsmen too are surprised that Bhavna Pandey who herself is a dashing lady got into a trap of an imposter who was so smart and clever that he even acquainted her of his conversation with senior leaders like Harish Rawat n several other thus earning the trust and confidence of Bhawna Pandey who at intervals gave Rs. 9.5 lakhs through bank transaction , five lakhs in cash and rest of the amount totalling to Rs. Twenty five lakhs reveal the social media news.
According to Bhavna Pandey when she felt that she is being duped and the imposter and his friend seemed suspicious she pressurised them to return her money and was assured to return them at the earliest.
But despite her repeated requests and pressure the imposter finally absconded and gave up responding to her phone calls etc.
Bhawna Pandey was shocked as Rs. 25 is big amount.
She immediately contacted the concerned police station in Dehradun and lodged the written complaint as FIR. The police is investigating the matter seriously on war footing and hope that the culprits will be behind bars in the near future.
It may be recalled that few years ago there was a similar complaint by the elder daughter of former Uttarakhand CM Dr. Nishank , producer, dancer and choreographer against a Mumbai producer who had duped her of several lakhs in the name of producing a film. What happened thereafter is not known.
As the state elections are nearing a ch imposters become active in the name of getting tickets to the prospective candidates posing as close to the top leadership. Some say that these days many such people are active in political offices or nearby especially in parties which they think has better chances to win. Theythen entice prospective candidates and dupe them of lakhs of rupees finally disappearing all of a sudden.
The point is how conveniently are these imposters active in Uttarakhand and deceiving women active in socio political arena and films not apprehensive of the serious consequences behind these frauds.
Hundreds of women of Uttarakhand has recently been duped of their crores of rupees by the owner of the LUCC, a chit fund company of Bagpat, UP who have lost their hard earned deposits and are completely bankrupt with no optimism of any justice in sight in the near future.
