Rahul Gandhi walks 14 kms on foot from Katra to pay obeisance to Mata Vaisno Devi
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday visited Godess Vaishno Devi temple and paid his, obeisance to the diety. He walked all the way, about fourteen kilometres from Katra to Vaishno Devi shrine whereas VIPs usually go by helicopters or on pony as the distance from Katra to the shrine is very tardy being at high altitude mountain.
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed his desire to cover the long distance on foot to pay his obeisance to Mata Vaishno Devi and said that while coming down after Darshan he will walk to Katra as well.
According to Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief, Rahul Gandhi was requested to visit Vaishno Devi Shrine three years ago and being Mata’s ardent devotee, he tried his best to do so, but due to the prevailing Covid 19 challenging times and his political occupations, he could take out time now.
He is Mata Vaishno Devi’s ardent devotee said Mir. Rahul Gandhi would be staying at temple premises tonight and will proceed for Katra next morning after visiting Bhairon Baba temple, which is a mandatory customary. Rahul Gandhi would be visiting Jammu after his visit where he will adress meetings and interact with Congress party state and district level officer bearers and workers.
He had already been to Srinagar on 9 th August. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Rahul Gandhi said that this is purely his, personal visit to pay obeisance to Godess Vaishnodevi and he will not talk on any issue, except having pious darshan of Mata.
In a tweet Rahul Gandhi through his video said that he will pray for the progress and prosperity if the nation while paying obeisance to Goddess Vaishno Devi. Rahul Gandhi in black T shirt and pant was followed by him umpteen followers party workers and the curious devotees chanting Jai Mata Dee slogans with Z catagory commandoes following him.
