In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old youth was shot dead at a bike repairing shop in Shantarshah village under the Bahadrabad area of Haridwar, creating panic in the entire locality.
According to information, two unidentified assailants with their faces covered with white cloth barged into the bike repairing shop at around 7:10 pm on Monday evening and shot dead Happy, son of Rajkumar. The victim was critically injured in the firing.
Family members and locals rushed the injured Happy to Surya Dev Hospital, Shantarshah for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
On receiving information about the incident, SSP Haridwar along with other senior police officers reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. A massive checking drive has been launched across the district to trace and arrest the attackers.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Sub-District Hospital, Roorkee for inquest and post-mortem proceedings.
Police said two masked assailants executed the crime and fled after firing. Teams have been formed and investigation is underway.
