Minister of state for culture Arjun Meghwal assures Parvatiya Kala Kendra of his full support and cooperation in the near future

The minister of state for parliamentary affairs and culture Arjun Ram Meghwal has lauded the Parvatiya Kala Kendra on its 55 th foundation anniversary at LTG Auditorium and assured it of his ministry’s total support and cooperation in future saying that he will contribute his best to this cultural organisation in the near future.

Speaking as the chief guest on the ocassion of the 55 th year of the foundation of Parvatiya Kala Kendra established by an eminent luminary in the field of art and culture Mohan Upreti and several other distinguished personalities of Uttarakhand, state minister of culture and parliamentary affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said that Uttarakhand is blessed with best of talents and outstanding artists, singers, theatre actors, writers and people of distinction in every sphere of life and is proud to be in the midst of the august gathering.

Lauding the healthy and enriched culture, traditions and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand Arjun Ram Meghwal assured Parvatiya Kala Kendra of his full support and cooperation in the near future which is doing a novel and commendable work in strengthening and preserving the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand representing the Himalayan state and promoting them at the national and international levels for the last more than 5 and a half decades.

The chief patron of Parvatiya Kala Kendra K. C. Pandey and the President Chandra Mohan Papnei felicitated the chief guest with a momento on behalf of Parvatiya Kala Kendra and extended their gracious thanks to the minister for sparing his pivotal time to bless them and the cultural organisation.

The president of the organisation Chandra Mohan Papnai and patron K. C. Pandey while throwing light on the vast and credible contribution of Parvatiya Kala Kendra under the stewardship of legendary artist and director legendary late Mohan Upreti, Naima Upreti and other leading luminaries for their outstanding blessings and contributions to budding and experienced artists as well as singers, musicians n theatre actors etc said that this cultural organisation has staged its impressive shows not only in Rashtrapati Bhawan in honour of dignitaries like president of US Jimmy Carter etc but has also promoted Uttarakhand’s culture globally in various countries of the world during its protracted journey of the last fifty five years by staging its impressive cultural events and laudable plays etc.

Several eminent personalities of Uttarakhand were also felicitated on this ocassion including impressive Nritya Natika and colourful cultural events staged impressing one and all.

Good number of inhabitants from different locations of Delhi participated in this function and enjoyed the cultural evening to the hilt.

Kindly recall that Parvatiya Kala, Kendra came into existence in the year 1968 with a view to promote the folk form of Uttarakhand connected with its rituals, traditions, festivals, ceremonies, dances, sings, legends, ballads and tales to enable enhancement and enrichment of opera Theatre. The main inspiration and force behind Parvatiya Kala, Kendra were Mohan Upreti and his, wife Naima, Upreti under whose active leadership the Kendra began its, second phase by adopting the folk ballads of Kumaon and Garhwal to contemporary stage. In 2018 during the Olympic Theatre held in India, the Parvatiya, Kala, Kendra presented a song and ballad RAJULA MALUSHAHI, UTTARAKHAND’S FAMOUS folk tale- a love story which acknowledged tremendous acclaim globally. The last performance before Covid of PKK was AAJ RANG HAI. Parvatiya Kala, Kendra has also to it’s credit showcasing traditional forms of Ramleela and interesting musical operas like UNDER SABHA, AMIR KHUSRO AND MEGHADOOT through a narrative musical structure. The Kendra, promotes interesting n impressive musical plays having sustainable development of great himalayan culture, traditions, rituals and arts safe guarding the cultural heritage of multifaceted n mukti dimensional Uttarakhand carrying behind a good reputation among art lovers. Meanwhile, the Uttarakjand’s Cultural and Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj who couldn’t make it to the function due to his preoccupation send a congratulatory message on the ocassion of the 55 th foundation anniversary of Parvatiya Kala, Kendra.
