Not a day is passed in the Himalaya state ,Uttarakhand known as abode of Gods where incidents of violence , arbitrary arrests, women in distress, brutal murders and women being pushed in prostitution and those fighting for the cause of the masses are not harassed, thrashed or jailed for no reason or fault of theirs.
Just few days ago a journalist turned activist , an advocate, a former assistant professor in Hemwati Nandan Garhwal University Ashutosh NEGI and his junior were arrested on fake, fabricated and frivolous charges branding them as extortionists, history sheeters and prior to that an RTI activist and Outspoken advocate who exposed the corrupt politicians of BJP was not only harassed but also sent out of the state as Tadipar for six long months. His name of advocate Vikesh Negi. Is this democracy ?
As if this was not enough on Monday an influencer who was exposing the bad and allegedly corrupt deeds of the administration and the ruling saffron party government was attacked and thrashed to such an extent that God willing he is safe and sound despite having been injured in the head, legs and entire body rather badly battered by the goons as being given to understand in social media.
The popular influencer Mayal who is loved and encouraged by his thousands of fans and well wishers in social media has accused the goons for the life taking attack on him for the best reasons known to them. There are also posts on social media that he hasn’t been attacked but has been injured after the bike he was driving met with an accident after being skidded.
In social media lots of posts are coming in with his picture in bandages on the injuries in his head and legs and Muyal giving a look of a badly thrashed injured man in rather tatters.
According to social media post Birju Mayal has been badly attacked and thrashed by the goons having been admitted in L.D.Bhatt hospital of Kashipur with an appeal to the police to take suo motto cognisance of this murderous attack on Mr. Birju Mayal and arrest the culprits under strictest sections of the law.
One Deep Mohan Negi denied all the reports of attack on Birju Mayal writing in his FB post that Tandoori journalist cum YouTuber Birju Mayal injured in a road accident.
The pictures released from the accident spot show that his motorcycle has either skidded on the road or there was a collision with a vehicle, Birju Mayal, who was lying on the road covered in dust, was taken by people in a vehicle to the nearest hospital for first aid. Senior journalist, social media writer and intellectual Rajeev Nayan Bahuguna wrote on FB : There is news of an attack on Birju Muyal, an innocent and addicted to likes and comments youth from Uttarakhand. The attackers should be arrested. Along with this, those who were instigating an ignorant and crazy youth to do things to get likes get beaten up continuously should also be arrested.
On Vinay Thapliyal wrote in X : Amidst the living dead bodies of Uttarakhand, there was one Birju who looked alive, who was working to awaken the dead bodies by becoming the voice of the oppressed and the common man. Today, due to some unknown reason, he was admitted in a seriously injured state to Sushila Tiwari Hospital. Who is responsible for this condition of the injured Birju? बिरजू सिर्फ बोलता ही नहीं, बल्कि कई बार वह ऐसे मुद्दों को छू जाता है, जिन्हें जानबूझकर नजरअंदाज किया जाता है। वह उन विषयों पर बात करता है, जो आम जनता के जीवन से जुड़े होते हैं। उसकी भाषा और शैली भले ही अलग हो, लेकिन उसके मुद्दे आम आदमी की परेशानियों से जुड़े होते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्ति पर हमला न केवल उसकी स्वतंत्रता पर, बल्कि आम जनता की आवाज पर हमला है।

बिरजू के लिए नहीं, हमारे लिए नहीं, बल्कि उसके बच्चों के लिए – बिरजू हमेशा उनका हीरो रहना चाहिए।
हम सबको यह समझना होगा कि हिंसा से विचारों को नहीं रोका जा सकता। अगर हम समाज को एक बेहतर दिशा में ले जाना चाहते हैं, तो हमें बहस, तर्क और संवाद को प्राथमिकता देनी होगी, न कि हमलों और डराने-धमकाने की राजनीति को।
