Another Blow to UKD, Another Resignation

Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) has suffered yet another setback as its District Vice President from Tehri, Daulat Singh Makhlouga, resigned from the primary membership and post of the party.
Makhlouga announced his resignation from Gaja, Tehri, alleging that senior leaders of the party are weakening the organization instead of strengthening it.
Calling the expulsion of active office bearers including Ashutosh Negi unfortunate and unjustified, Makhlouga said Negi had continuously worked to strengthen UKD. He said that throwing out such dedicated workers is not in the interest of the organization.
He said he was deeply hurt by the internal factionalism and the manner in which grassroots workers who built the party are being sidelined.
UKD, the regional party that spearheaded the statehood movement, has been witnessing a series of resignations and expulsions in recent months amid ongoing internal tussle between factions.
