Four Years On, Ankita Bhandari Family Still Awaits Complete Justice: Harak Singh Rawat Leads Congress Protest March to Vanantra Resort

Dehradun: Former cabinet minister and chairman of the election committee of Uttarakhand Congress Dr. Harak Singh Rawat on Friday paid tribute to Ankita Bhandari on her fourth death anniversary at Ganga Bhogpur Talla and led a protest march of Congress workers up to Vanantra Resort, demanding complete justice in the case.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rawat said, “Four years have passed, but the family of Uttarakhand’s daughter Ankita Bhandari is still waiting for that moment where every question is answered and every truth is brought before the public.”

He said that by participating in the tribute ceremony and the protest march with Congress workers, a clear message has been given that Ankita needs justice, not just assurances, truth, not just statements, and accountability, not just claims of action.

Dr. Rawat said the questions that have been raised for years regarding the VVIP connected to the murder case must be answered. “If there is any fact regarding the role or involvement of any influential person, then there should be a fair and transparent investigation and if found guilty, strict action should be taken according to the law,” he said.

He added that the question is not just of Ankita’s family. “The question is about the safety, dignity of the daughters of entire Uttarakhand and the trust of the public in the justice system. Even after four years the question is alive — when will Ankita get complete justice? The people of Uttarakhand want answers.”

Asserting that Congress will continue the fight, Dr. Rawat said, “Until justice is served to Ankita Bhandari, every worker of Congress will fight for her rights from the streets to the House.”
