Hanuman Ansh Becomes 2026’s Divine Blockbuster, from Rs 2 Crore To Rs 347 Crore

Delhi – In an extraordinary turn of events that has stunned the Indian film industry, the film Hanuman Ansh, produced on a modest budget of merely Rs 1.75 to 2 crore, has today emerged as the biggest spiritual blockbuster of the year, crossing a worldwide gross collection of Rs 347.05 crore. The film, which is based on the life and spiritual message of Uttarakhand’s revered saint Baba Neem Karoli, whose real name was Lakshman Narayan Sharma, follows the journey of a grieving young Lakshmi Narayan who embarks on a spiritual search across North India after his mother’s death in quest of answers to life, death and human suffering, eventually transforming into the saint whose teachings of love, service and compassion touched countless lives.
Written, directed and produced by Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi and based on his book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, the film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa in the titular role of Neem Karoli Baba along with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel. The film was made by three young producers, all ardent devotees of Lord Hanuman and Baba Neem Karoli. Despite its humble origins, its theatrical run has been nothing short of miraculous.
The initial weeks were extremely weak, with the film opening on August 7 in just 25 screens with a collection of Rs 10 lakh, earning only Rs 1.08 crore in the first week and Rs 40 lakh in the second week. Its screen count had fallen to just 25 after the arrival of big films like Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2. However, after Batwara 1947 failed to perform as expected, Hanuman Ansh gradually regained screens through sheer audience demand. The film first crossed Rs 1 crore in a day on its third Sunday with Rs 2.50 crore, collecting Rs 10.40 crore in the third week, then Rs 61 crore in the fourth week and a historic Rs 80.25 crore in its fifth week, which was more than eight times the Rs 9.85 crore earned by the new release Haiwaan starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in the same period.
According to the latest developments on its 45th day, which was Sunday, September 21, the film earned Rs 13.75 crore nett in India, registering a 41 percent jump from Saturday’s Rs 9.75 crore, from 7,628 shows across the country. With this, its India nett collection stands at Rs 271.88 crore, India gross at Rs 321.05 crore and overseas gross at Rs 26 crore after its international release on September 11 by Hombale Films, which is handling its worldwide distribution. The total worldwide gross of Rs 347.05 crore now leaves the film just Rs 3 crore short of the Rs 350 crore milestone, making it the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2026. The producers had gone for almost no publicity and their efforts were mindless, but mouth publicity paid tremendous dividends and social media did wonders, with crowds thronging theatres at a pan-India level and drawing house-full shows, proving that when hard work is joined with faith, paths are created on their own, and in this journey many are feeling the grace and blessings of Neem Karoli Baba.
