India’s Sarvashakti ship with 45000 tons LPG is sailing towards Vishakhapatnam after clearing Strait of Hormuz

According to the APB news the Indian-bound LPG tanker “Sarva Shakti ” has successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz.

This transit is considered a major relief for India at a time when shipping through this route has virtually ceased due to the US blockade and tensions with Iran.

According to Marine Traffic data, the LPG carrier Sarvashakti passed close to Iran’s Larak Island and followed Tehran-administered routes to pass through this chokepoint.

The ship is carrying 45,000 tonnes of gas and 18 Indian crew members and is headed to a major LNG terminal in Visakhapatnam.

The Marshall Islands-flagged vessel, carrying approximately 45,000 tons of LPG (commonly used for cooking), was seen entering the Gulf of Oman on Saturday, passing near the Larak and Karam islands in Iran. The ship has previously plied between the Persian Gulf and Indian ports and is currently making a signal to head towards India.

It may be recalled that India grapples with energy crisis, acute LPG shortage Being the world’s third largest oil importer and second largest LPG consumer, India is currently grappling with a severe energy crisis.
