SDRF Rescues Girl Missing for 5 Days from Dense Forest, Search On for Trekker Lost in Dayara
Ranikhet: The State Disaster Response Force team from Sariyapani post has successfully rescued a girl who had been missing for five days from a dense forest in an injured condition.
According to officials, the girl, a resident of Majkhali, went missing on 1 July 2026. Following the information, an intensive search operation was launched under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Pankaj Dangwal.
On Tuesday, during the operation, the SDRF team found the girl about 12-13 km from Sundarkhal in a thick forest area. As per preliminary information, she had lost her way in the jungle.
The rescue team administered first aid at the spot and then brought her out on a stretcher through the difficult forest terrain to the nearest road head. She was later shifted by ambulance to the Government Hospital in Ranikhet for treatment.
Local residents have lauded the SDRF for its quick and courageous rescue operation.
In a related case, teams are also searching for a girl trekker who has been missing since 29 June from the Dayara trek in Uttarkashi district. The search for her is still underway.
