An extremely unique heist of silver and gold jewels worth more than a crore in Haldwani

A heist of expensive jewels worth more than Rs one crore have been reported from a jewellery shop in Haldwani with police investigating the matter from various angles. According to the latest news the modus operandi of the robbers was extremely unique.

They hired a next (adjoining) shop of Radhika Jewellers in Haldwani and thereafter very meticulously cut the wall with instruments entering the jewellery shop during the night and committing the heist decamping expensive jewels worth rupees more than a crore. After this filmy style robbery there is panic among other shopkeepers especially the jewellery shop owners.

According to the information received, when Navneet Sharma, owner of Radhika Jewellers, reached the shop to open it on Sunday morning, he was shocked to see the scene inside.

The shop’s walls were broken, showcases were empty, and the merchandise was scattered. Preliminary estimates indicate that the thieves stole approximately 25 kilograms of silver and 400 grams of gold.

The high-profile heist has also created panic among other businesses in the city. It is reported that the thieves entered the shop by cutting through the wall of another shop located next to the jeweler’s showroom.

All the gold and silver jewelry stored in 11 showcases at Radhika Jewelers was found missing. Upon receiving the information, Mukhani Police Station Officer Sunil Joshi arrived at the scene and inspected the scene.

According to the police, the thieves fled, leaving behind the tools used in the theft. A forensic team is also being called in to investigate the heist.

As soon as news of the heist spread, a crowd gathered outside the shop on Kaladhungi Main Road. This massive theft has created panic among local merchants.

The police are investigating the CCTV footage of the surrounding area and interrogating the suspects and are claiming to make a breakthrough soon.

The shop owner, whose wall the thieves broke to enter the jewellery shop, had rented the shop to some people for the last 40 days without any investigation and knowing their credentials.

One month’s rent was paid to the shop owner. The accused were operating the shop under the pretext of converting it into a clothing showroom. Surprisingly, the shop owner neither has the tenants’ mobile phone number nor Aadhaar card. The robbers are absconding and the police is desperately trying to solve the case and bring the culprits to justice.
