Pauri Police’s big success: Vicious pickpocket Satendra alias Jhapti arrested, 84 mobile phones worth 20-22 lakh recovered

The Pauri Garhwal police deserve to be complimented for nabbing an infamous pick pocket and snatcher of the Pauri Garhwal district who was notorious for snatching several mobiles and other valuables wanted by the police for a long time.
According to a latest report the police SHO of Pauri the team formed on the instructions of Police Captain Lokeshwar Singh raided near Bhimgoda Barrage intersection last night and arrested the accused Satendra alias Jhapti (resident of Bijnor, currently resident of Jwalapur, Haridwar).
After nabbing the most wanted snatcher Satender alias Jhapti,the Pauri police recovered 84 mobile phones (iPhone, Redmi, Vivo, Oppo, Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, Google Pixel, etc.) with an estimated value of ₹20 to 22 lakh.
It all started with a complaint received by the police about an attempt made to defraud Bhagirath, a shopkeeper at Sadhu Samaj Ghat in the Ramjhula area, of ₹1,71,000 via UPI by stealing his mobile phone.
Due to the prompt action of the Cyber Unit, ₹90,000 was immediately placed on hold in the account. After nabbing the culprit during interrogation it was revealed that
the accused used to steal mobile phones by deceiving tourists at Ganga Ghats, ashrams, hotels, and dharamshalas.
He would change his location every three months.
So far more than half a dozen cases have been registered against him in Haridwar, Dehradun, Bijnor, and the GRP.

According to the latest reports the process of identifying the recovered mobile phones and returning them to their original owners is underway.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the accused’s criminal network and history.
