Will AAP and Congress arrive at an amicable seat adjustment formula in Delhi elections to avoid division of anti BJP secular votebank ?
Since the Delhi elections are round the corner and the ruling party AAP is trying its level best to stage a come back for the forth term in succession, the Congress party is leaving no stone unturned to pose strong challenge to both AAP and the BJP despite the hard fact that Aam Admi Party and Congress are the important constituents of India National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
While the former Delhi chief minister and national convenor of AAP Arvind Kejrival and other leaders like Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, RS Member Sanjay Singh, Delhi CM Atishi Marlena Singh etc are extremely busy in hectic pre election preparations holding padyatras and holding meetings at the decentralised level in Delhi enticing massive crowds the Congress party’s Delhi unit too is busy holding a nyay Yatra type Padyatra in Delhi touching majority of the constituencies with senior leaders staying in tents to establish connect with the grass roots workers and general masses.
While Arvind Kejrival is highlighting the achievements of his government and accusing the BJP central leadership for putting him behind the bars including several of his ministers, MLAs and other opposition leaders saying that the LG is stopping all the developmental works in Delhi working at the behest of the BJP in order to bring the popularity graph of AAP down terming it as a corrupt party on fabricated grounds , the Congress party on the other hand is considering AAP as its immediate political rival and enemy rather than BJP and publicly accusing the Delhi government, its CM and leaders of various shortcomings thus unambiguously giving an impression that the I.N.D.I.A. constituents are not uniting and are still fighting with each other thus giving political advantage to BJP which has been trying hard since 1998 to achieve power in Delhi but failed vigorously till date since the last twenty seven years.
According to political analysts if AAM ADMI Party will contest in Delhi elections independently on its own leaving aside Congress, it will confront opposition from two fronts, one from Congress and other from BJP which is fully armed with money, muscle and power.
This will not only divide the anti BJP secular oriented opposition votes between AAP and Congress but will render immense benefit to BJP which is trying hard to retain power in Delhi since 1998 having become Delhi a distant dream for the saffron party which once used to claim the national capital as its fiefdom.
Political analysts also say that since this will be the fourth term for AAP and the BJP has tried its best to accuse and brand its leaders as scam ridden and corrupt in various scandals including the infamous liquor imbriglio , though they may or may not be that corrupt in reality as the BJP and Congress are but after 11 years usually anti incumbency creeps in making the ruling party’s chances difficult to stage a comeback.
Therefore every possible effort should be made to ensure that the AAP and Congress which are the natural allies of INDIA should give up their petty differences and form an electoral alliance with better seat adjustment in Delhi with AAP getting a major share and Congress a little share.
Meanwhile there are unconfirmed reports through some reliable sources that the leaders of Congress and AAP are seriously trying to patchup differences and come to an understanding in Delhi to ensure that BJP is kept at bay by all means. There are also reports though unconfirmed that understanding is being arrived at between both the INDIA constituents with AAP getting 45 to 50 seats and twenty to Congress. If this really happens, though it still seems to be a distant dream, keeping BJP away in the national capital will not be a problem reveal sources.
