Rahul Gandhi on attacking mode at his first Press Conference after being disqualified as LSMP. Says : Will continue to speak the truth till the end

The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi today, after being disqualified from the membership of parliament became extremely offensive against the saffron party and the government at the press conference at party headquarter 24 Akbar Road.

Addressing the crowded press conference on Saturday in the presence of the Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, sister and general Secretary of AICC Priyanka Gandhi, K. C. Venugopal, Abhishekh Singhvi, and senior leader Jairam Ramesh Rahul Gandhi catagorically said that he is fighting the war for safeguarding democracy n therefore not afraid of anyone. Accusing Bhartiya Janata Party of pre -strategically diverting the people’s attention from the core issue of Adani – Hindenburg and JPC probe, Rahul Gandhi said that the ruling party n its government is falsely trying to implicate him of the charge of insulting the OBC community. This is absurd. He said in parliament his speech was scuttled.

I have written a detailed letter to the speaker in this regard. I have been constantly saying that Adani had been given majority of the airports by arbitrarily changing / altering the norms , even given the copies to them in this regard but of no avail. Rahul added : He even complained that the ministers of the government spoke rubbish and blatant lie about him inside the parliament falsely charging me that I had sought help from foreign powers. I wrote two letters to the speaker in this regard and even went to his chamber.

But I didn’t acknowledged any response said Gandhi. He added : I told the speaker that these ministers and MPs are levelling false and baseless charges against me. I want to put my point of view forth in parliament, I am not being allowed to speak.

I questioned him as to why I am not being allowed to speak. The speaker Sir was just smiling and said that he can’t do anything in this regard said disqualified Waynad MP.

Expressing his disenchantment over his question in parliament about the relations between Modi ji and Adani and investment of Rs 20000 crores in Adani group’s shelf company , the money of public exchequer, all my questions have been expunged from the parliamentary proceedings said Rahul Gandhi asking why has it been done ?

Rahul Gandhi said that he has been disqualified from the membership of Lok Sabha because prime minister Narendra Modi is afraid that I will again ask the questions in parliament. Rahul Gandhi said Adani ji has a shell company and somebody has invested Rs 20000 crores in it. Who’s money is it? I asked this question including the relationship between Modi ji and Adani. My talks have been arbitrarily expunged from the proceedings of parliament said Rahul Gandhi.

He said that he has a relation of affection n love with the electorates of Waynad, Kerala. The relationship of family and affection. I thought that I should write a letter to them about my hearty wish for them. He said democracy in our country is being attacked. He also wrote about the my speech that has been expunged in parliament and regarding my sentence by Surat Court n subsequent disqualification.

When a reporter at the press conference posed a question regarding Rahul’s speech in London, he seemed to be quite in anger. The reporter asked why is he not seeking apology when he is being asked to do so by BJP MPs and ministers in parliament? What’s his opinion? Rahul responded : I am thinking that my name is not Sawarkar. My name is Gandhi and Gandhis never seek apologies answered Rahul to the reporter’s question.

Rahul said the prime minister was afraid of my next speech as I was to speak on Adani and that’s the reason my membership of Lok Sabha was revoked.

He said he is least bothered whether he remains the MP or not. Whether he’s in parliament or outside it.

Being on an offensive mode on the government Rahul Gandhi said he will never give up questioning them, come what may. I am fighting for safeguarding the democracy in India and will continue to do so. I will go on questioning as to what relationship Modi ji has with Adani. I am not afraid of them.

Rahul said I speak the truth, for the sake of the country and will continue to do so till the end.

They think that they will weaken me by sending me to jail, but cancelling my membership of parliament or by threatening me. I can’t be weakened or threatened ever. I am fighting for keeping our democracy alive and my war will continue ahead incessantly said Rahul Gandhi.

It may be recalled that after the press conference of Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi the senior BJP leader and former union law minister, vociferous Ravi Shankar Prasad held a press conference in Patna. He said that Rahul Gandhi has called this press conference to divert people’s attention. This exercise is being done to bag sympathy votes in Karnataka elections and nothing else said Ravi Shankar Prasad.
