TWO BIG GARHWALI MOVIES TO LIGHT UP THE SCREEN SOON – ‘SUPANYU’ AND ‘KANDALI’ SET FOR NOVEMBER RELEASE

Garhwali cinema is set to witness a double bonanza this season with two magnificent message-oriented films ready to hit theatres in Delhi and Dehradun.
SUPANYU – A Film by Debu Rawat:
The much-awaited Garhwali movie *SUPANYU*, written and directed by noted filmmaker *Debu Rawat* and produced by renowned Uttarakhandi entrepreneur based in Delhi *Mani Dhaundiyal and his wife Pushpa Dhaundiyal*, is all set to be released shortly.
The actor Ajay Singh Bisht is the co-producer of this message-driven family entertainer which showcases the pain of migration, culture and emotions of the hills.
The makers have announced two grand launching events:
– Dehradun Event – 24th October, 2026: The official Poster Release and Trailer Launching ceremony will be held in Dehradun.
– Delhi Event – 2nd November, 2026: Another big promotional event will be held in Delhi in the first week of November for the Uttarakhandi diaspora.
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat will be the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Madhu Bhatt, Vice Chairman of Uttarakhand Culture Department and K.S. Chauhan, Nodal Officer of UFDC will be the Special Guests.
KANDALI – Another Powerful Story:
On the other hand, another beautiful Garhwali movie ‘KANDALI’ is also being released in the month of November.
The film is written and directed by Shiv Narayan Singh Rawat and produced by Rajesh Bhandari, AVM (Retd.) Indian Air Force.
The poster and trailer release of ‘KANDALI’ will take place at Dehradun on 17th November, 2026.
With two strong content-driven Garhwali films – SUPANYU and KANDALI – releasing back-to-back, this November is being seen as a big month for Uttarakhandi cinema, which is trying to give a new identity to the pahadi culture on the big screen.
