Urmila Sanawar, Second Wife of Ex-Jwalapur MLA Suresh Rathore, Says Ready for Narco Test in Ankita Bhandari Case; Questions SIT for Withholding Evidence from CBI

SUNIL NEGI
Dehradun – 20 Oct 2026:

Urmila Sanawar, the second wife of former Jwalapur MLA Suresh Rathore – who deliberately leaked the audio of a telephonic conversation between her and Rathore creating sensation in social and political corridors of Uttarakhand several months ago – has categorically said she is willing to face narco-analysis test in the Ankita Bhandari murder case.

Urmila revealed this while speaking to media at her residence.

A vociferous and bold lady whose videos surface on social media very often, particularly with regard to the Ankita Bhandari case, Urmila was with CBI officers the other day and was interrogated for four hours.

Revealing the nature of questions posed by CBI officers, actress Urmila Sanawar said she was shocked and surprised that except her 2.5 minutes audio, the premier investigation agency was not given the other audios and videos by the SIT which had investigated the Ankita Bhandari case.

Earlier, her ex-husband – with whom her several photographs adorned the walls of her drawing room and who now refuses to accept her as his ex-wife – was interrogated by CBI officers at a Dehradun/Haridwar guest house for several hours.

It may be recalled that the aggrieved parents of Ankita Bhandari, who are in Delhi these days and had met two senior Director-level officers of CBI – Special Directors Manoj Shashidhar and Sampat Meena – along with BJP MP Anil Baluni, it was only after this meeting that CBI started interrogating Suresh Rathore and Urmila Sanawar in the last nine months.

Prior to this, the parents had squatted near India Gate protesting against the appointment of Dushyant Kumar Gautam as Governor of Sikkim and LOP Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and several Congress and NSUI activists protested and expressed their solidarity with Ankita Bhandari’s parents by courting arrest.

Ankita Bhandari, 19-year-old receptionist at Vanantra Resort, was murdered on 18 September 2022. Main accused Pulkit Arya and two others have already been sentenced to life imprisonment, while the CBI has now registered a separate case to probe the alleged VIP angle.
