Bail related case of Arvind Kejrival reserved for 29 July by Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court today heard the petition of incarcerated Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival regarding bail in the PMLA case pertaining to the alleged receiving of Kickbacks in the liquor scam linked with the new excise policy of Delhi government, now scrapped from South Lobby. The High Court has now reserved the decision of bail for 29 th July. The Delhi CM has already been granted interim bail by the supreme court in the ED related case but since he was already arrested by the CBI after interrogation he was not released despite the SC bail.

The counsel for Arvind Kejrival, senior advocate, Supreme Court Abhishekh Manu Singhvi while arguing for Delhi CM said that he is an honourable citizen, Delhi CM and not a terrorist. He is in jail for the last several months but the Indian premier investigative agency CBI had never arrested him earlier but after getting bail from the lower court ( trial court) in ED case, the CBI had immediately interrogated him in Tihar Jail n then arrested him on CBI Court’s directions . Abhishekh Manu Singhvi said that the CM Kejrival was released on interim bail earlier by the supreme court and he had surrendered dutifully on 2 nd June unambiguously exhibiting that he is a thorough gentleman who abides by the law. Thereafter the trial court had accorded him the bail. He said : Delhi CM is not running away and he has been arrested on false and unsubstantiated case. He being a duly law abiding citizen has always cooperated in the investigations said Abhishekh Manu Singhvi.

Speaking on the deteriorating health condition of Delhi CM, his counsel said that his sugar level has come down five times while he was sleeping.

This is highly dangerous as coming down of sugar level while the patient is sleeping may result in several serious consequences.

The CM’s ‘advocate Abhishekh urged the Court to kindly give him bail as lots of undertrials are getting bail on these genuine grounds adding that my party’s name is AAM AADMI Party but am not getting bail.

He urged : Kindly give me bail keeping in view the facts of the circumstances. Now responding to the arguments of Abhishekh the CBI counsel DP Singh said that till now CBI has not taken any action that may amount to any wrong doing or illegality. The agency has worked hard for three months to collect the requisite evidences said DP Singh. We have taken action against Kejrival, Delhi CM after Manguta Reddy had become government approver and CBI has sought permission under PC act as required under the law/ rules. He added that CBI always works under law and has its own modus operandi. D.P Singh said that CBI has summoned him under 160 but this act is not for the witness. This can be used by CBI against anyone connected with the concerned case said DP Singh. Delhi CM said that he was interrogated for nine hours . We have all the audio video recordings. Everything have been typed. He checked and even rectified them. There was tremendous crowd outside the CBI headquarter. Who will decide as to who will investigate this matter asked CBI counsel DP Singh reveal the report of Amar Ujala.
