Another car falls thirty metre down at Parsundakhal, Pauri Garhwal district with two deaths of senior citizens- husband wife n a woman grievously injured

Uttarakhand has been cursed badly and God seems to be annoyed with nature as deadly accidents are occuring in Garhwal and Kumaun region of Uttarakhand regularly. What is particular about the accidents in Uttarakhand is, the casualty rate is very high and injuries are grievous. Few months ago there was a dreaded accident in Damta, Garhwal where twenty five people had died instantly when the bus they were travelling in fell in a deep gorge. Similarly just three days ago in Simdi, Bironkhal, Pauri Garhwal a big tragedy occured when about 33 baraties died and several injured after a thirty two seater bus carrying 52 persons including children, old aged n youths died when the bus due to bad condition of the road fell in a gorge, taking several twists n turns ( acrobatics) hitting the rocks, trees, boulders etc finally being badly damaged turning upside down. Today, another tragedy occured when a vehicle heading to Kotdwar from Buransi village, Pauri township fell thirty metres down a kilometre away from Parsundakhal, killing 62 year old Veer Singh Panwar of Buransi village in Sithonsiun patti and his 60 year old wife. The dead bodies have been retrieved. A woman travelling with them may be their daughter or someone else was serious injured who was admitted to Pauri Garhwal hospital by the local populace with the help of police and rescue team. Just yesterday a utility van number UK 13 CA 0042 probably after not being controlled by the driver fell down about three hundred metres down in Kudiyala Tehri Garhwal killing one person on the spot and severely injuring other. The dead person was from West Bengal namely Vijay Thakur and the injured was Aman from Puruwala Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Deadly accidents have become order of the day in Uttarakhand with buses, cars with passengers falling in gorges or people killing due to landslides or boulders falling on running vehicles. During raining season the accidents increase due to bad roads n natural calamities, including overloading of cars, Max (es) and buses. Last year a vehicle, similarly fell down in a gorge at Tehri Garhwal’s Madan Negi area full of school going children killing them due to overloading. According to a statistical data released by state government more than 4700 people had been killed and over 5000 injured many of them grievously in around 7000 road accidents in Uttarakhand between January 2017 and April 2022. What is surprising and shocking to note that there is no word of condolence from the Union Minister of Roads, transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari nor any serious concern of suitable transport policy or severe directions given to the police and transport department, its senior officers to set right the situation in future by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This is awful and highly worrisome.
