CM PUSHKAR SINGH DHAMI LAUNCHES UTTARAKHAND STATE MINORITY EDUCATION AUTHORITY, DISTRIBUTES RECOGNITION CERTIFICATES

Dehradun, 01 July 2026

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday launched the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority at a programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence.

On the occasion, he also distributed recognition certificates to various minority educational institutions.

The Chief Minister presented NCERT books to students from minority schools and said that this step towards quality and modern education will provide a strong foundation for students’ futures.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said Uttarakhand is not only Devbhoomi, but also a land with a rich tradition of knowledge, education, and spirituality. “This sacred land has been giving the world the message of knowledge and values for centuries. In such a scenario, it is the state’s responsibility to establish Uttarakhand as a model for the country in the field of education,” he said.

He said that with this objective, the state government has established the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority from 1 July 2026 to provide quality, modern, and value-based education to all sections of society. Along with this, the Madarsa Board has been dissolved and a new system has been put in place.

The Chief Minister said this is not just the launch of an institution, but a decision that will lay a strong foundation for a bright future for every child in the state. “The government’s goal is that every child gets equal opportunities and can move forward through modern education, technology, and skills,” he said.

He said the present time is the age of knowledge, innovation, and technology. AI, machine learning, digital technology, and new skills are deciding the direction of the future. “Therefore, it is essential that no child of Uttarakhand is left behind in this journey of development,” he said.

The Chief Minister clarified that the Minority Education Authority has been established not to impact the identity or traditions of any community, but with the aim of providing better educational opportunities to all sections. “The government’s effort is that children remain connected to their cultural roots while becoming proficient in science, mathematics, computers, skill development, and modern education,” he said.

He said that under the new system, all notified minority communities will be given equal opportunities. Sections that did not get adequate representation in the earlier system will now also get equal opportunity in the field of education.

He said the National Education Policy-2020, implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given a new direction to the country’s education system. “This policy is not limited to degrees only, but emphasizes skills, innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and employment,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the Uttarakhand government is promoting digital education, smart classrooms, skill development, startups, and modern training so that the state’s youth can be prepared for future challenges.

He said that the institutions being granted recognition today are not just receiving certificates, but are becoming partners in new thinking and a new system in the field of education. “It is the responsibility of these institutions to prepare knowledgeable, cultured, sensitive, and dedicated citizens for the nation,” he said.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that in the coming years this Authority will bring positive change in the lives of thousands of children and make Uttarakhand a leading state in the field of quality and inclusive education.

He appealed to religious leaders, academicians, educational institutions, and enlightened citizens of society to cooperate in making this initiative successful.

Cabinet Ministers Shri Ganesh Joshi, Shri Pradeep Batra, MLA Shri Umesh Sharma Kau, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Chairman of Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority Dr. Surjeet Singh, public representatives, religious leaders from various minority communities, academicians, and managers of educational institutions were present on the occasion.
