Self-Styled Hindutva Influencer Swatantra Bharadwaj Detained In Bulandshahr While Trying To Flee To Nepal; No Big Brother Came To Rescue

Delhi Police on Friday detained self-styled kattar Hindu influencer Swatantra Bharadwaj from Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the assault on Sanjay Kumar, father of CJP activist Nishu Azad, during July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar.
According to Delhi Police sources, Bharadwaj was caught near Dhamra Nara village after a dramatic chase. Earlier in the day when first team reached Naithla village, he had fled on a Bullet motorcycle towards Khurja wearing helmet to hide identity. Several teams in plain clothes were deployed and local journalists were also questioned to trace him.
Sources said he was planning to flee to Nepal to evade arrest, but was nabbed before he could cross.
The arrest comes hours after a delegation of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) along with Azad Samaj Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan and Purnia MP Pappu Yadav protested outside Parliament Street police station demanding his arrest. Police had assured CJP convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka that he would be arrested within 72 hours and that attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and SC/ST Act sections would be added to FIR.
The case relates to assault on Sanjay Kumar who was recording CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20 when argument broke out over filming. As per FIR, he was punched on head and hit with hard object like iron bangle / kada. RML Hospital recorded two lacerated wounds on head. Police had initially called it minor scuffle injury and served only notice to Bharadwaj and co-accused Suraj Kumar.
Controversy exploded after a viral podcast interview where Bharadwaj himself boasted he had “cracked the skull” of Nishu Azad’s father and that no action was taken because of his political connections. In the clip he claimed Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra and even “PM is his elder brother” saved him from jail after a phone call.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan, son of late Ram Vilas Paswan, categorically denied any link and lodged an authorised complaint with Delhi Police against Bharadwaj for misusing his name. Paswan said anyone can take photo with minister but that doesn’t mean association, and demanded immediate stringent action under BNS and SC/ST Act, stating his party stands with Dalit victim Sanjay.
No big brother came to rescue Bharadwaj. As one CJP leader put it, “Iska koi bada bhai bachane nahi aaya. Ek bade bhai Chirag Paswan ne to pallas jhad liya hai aur uske khilaf shikayat darj kara di hai.”
Bharadwaj is being brought to Delhi for interrogation. Police said a separate FIR is also being considered for online abuse and objectionable images targeting victim’s daughter Nishu Azad.
