Uttarakhand

On 3 rd May yet another tragedy occured at
at 5:30 pm, when a tiger devoured Mr. Mahipal Singh Mehra, a resident of Borada in the Atal Adarsh Gram Sabha, Tadam, near his home. Tadam is situated approximately 52 km west of the Almora district headquarters and is surrounded by blocks such as Bhikiyasain, Nainidanda, and Syaldey.

Just a few days earlier, a tiger had devoured Mr. Khim Singh Rawat, also from Tadam. At that time, the forest department stated that he had gone to the forest to collect grass.

But today’s incident occurred close to home. Fear of the tiger has gripped the village, making it difficult for people to leave their homes.

Despite all efforts, the department has been unable to capture the man-eating tiger. The capture of an innocent leopard was widely praised, but the real man-eater remains elusive.

If the Forest Department continues to show such negligence, there is a strong possibility of such incidents recurring in the future.
