A brave police officer of Dehradun Naresh Rathore was shot by a bullet of a criminal yesterday late night injuring him when he was following the criminals who had on the gun point tried to loot a person of his cash and other belongings and has also injured the victim with the bullet firing. According to the news pouring in, after receiving the information , a dedicated officer of Uttarakhand police Naresh Rathore alongwith others followed some looters after they got the information about a person having been looted at a gun point and also attacked resulting in his injury probably with the locally manufactured pistol called Katta in Hindi.
When the police were behind these murderers on the run, the pistol gunfire started from the sides of these robbers and the police had to retaliate.
After the crossfire between the looters and the police one of the criminals was shot dead but in the exchange of the fire the police officer Naresh Rathore was also injured, immediately taken to hospital and rendered medical treatment forthwith. He was referred to the higher centre for immediate treatment after being injured grievously with the bullet of the criminals.
This tragedy occured in the Prem Nagar Police Station’s jurisdiction and the officer injured was the SHO of that police station.
After the encounter both the Police station incharge and the criminal who also received bullet injuries were taken to hospital and admitted there but the criminal died of gun shot severe injuries. Now the police SHO and another victim are being treated in the hospital.
