Senior Journalists felicitated at a Grand Ceremony Organized by Press Club of India & Accredited Journalists Association

On National Press Day – 2025:

The grand national ceremony organized jointly by the Accredited Journalists Association and the Press Club of India on the occasion of National Press Day 2025 concluded successfully at the Press Club of India. The event became a historic gathering with the presence of senior journalists, media professionals, and representatives from various institutions across the country.

The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by thought-provoking addresses from distinguished guests on the role and challenges of the media in the modern age.

Chief Guest Shri Swadesh Bhushan said:
“The essence of journalism lies in the pursuit of truth. In the digital era, this responsibility multiplies, as information must not only be fast but also accurate.”
M LC Shri K. Shivakumar remarked:
“The biggest challenge before journalists today is maintaining credibility. Technology may assist, but a journalist’s judgment ultimately guides their work.”
Shri Sudhir Mahajan (Retd. IAS) shared:
“Democracy gains strength when journalism remains unbiased and courageous. Media is both the mirror of the nation and a guiding force.”
Shri Anil Kumar Saxena (IIS) stated:
“Journalism is not merely a profession but a means of public service. We must disseminate information that strengthens national interest.”
Shri Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, President of the Accredited Journalists Association, said:
“National Press Day is not just a celebration but a moment of introspection. Public interest, courage, and impartiality form the true strength of journalism.”
Shri Neeraj Thakur, Secretary of the Press Club of India, emphasized:
“In a rapidly changing media landscape, journalists must embrace digital media, data journalism, and technological proficiency.”
Shri Gautam Lahiri, President of the Press Club of India, added:
“Freedom of the press is the soul of democracy. A journalist’s fearlessness is their greatest strength.”
Felicitation of Eminent Journalists
The most distinguished highlight of the program was the honouring of renowned journalists from across India. The awardees included:
Shri Dilbar Gothi, Shri Sanjeev Upadhyay, Shri Rakesh Thapliyal, Shri Ram Das, Shri Manas Banerjee, Shri Sushil Jhalani, Shri Guru Basavayya, Shri Shikoh Azad, senior journalist and columnist Vivek Shukla, Sunil Negi, editor UKnationnews, Gulshan Khatri , former metro editor NBT, Dr. Harish Lakhera senior journo, Sunil Ms. Vinita Yadav, Shri Krishna Kumar Tiwari, Mohammad Ilyas, Shri Sushil Kumar, Dr. Sunil Parashar, Shri Sunil Sharma, Shri Rahul Sharma, Shri O.P. Gautam, among several other journalists.
The ceremony was anchored by eminent journalist Shri Sanjeev Upadhyay, whose eloquent presentation added dignity to the event.
Shri Jagan Negi and Shri Anil Manchanda made notable contributions to the program’s organization, playing a key role in ensuring its success.
General Secretary Shri Kodle Channappa expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, journalists, and contributors for their presence and support.
