Cloud burst at Basukedar, Kedarnath resulted in the destruction of houses and a bus

There is yet another news about the cloud burst taking place in Rudraprayag district’s Basukedar area under the Kedarnath Assembly constituency where the damage has been massive with several houses , vehicles including a bus completely damaged. Till now there is no report of any casualty.

A bus of Vishwanath Service heading for Basukedar, Chenagarh , Kedarnath from Dehradun has also been badly damaged after coming under the impact of this ecological disaster.

The landslide that occured after the cloud bursts have been massive destroying several houses, partially affecting the bridge and a bus. The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal’s leader Ashutosh Negi

has appealed to the disaster management authorities to take immediate cognizance of this mishappening and provide immediate relief to the local populace affected by this massive landslide with teams of paramedic too, to provide the injured urgent medical care.

In district Chamoli the local police has issued warning due to the felling of boulders and landslides at various locations in view of heavy and torrential rainfall saying that the tourists and pilgrims should avoid and defer their presentation scheduled journeys to Garhwal, Uttarakhand.

The majority of the points at the National Highway are in great mess due to landslides and boulders falling down.

The police and administration are incessantly inspecting the roads. There are also reports of cloud bursts at Gram Panchayat Mopata under the jurisdiction of Dewal development block where the destruction is massive with two people reportedly missing including number of domestic pets having been buried under the debris. The pictures are really painful.
