Protest and court arrests by Indian Youth Congress activists against rising inflation, skyrocketing prices LPG cylinders and petrol and diesel.

New Delhi, 02 September 2021:

Hundreds of Youth Congress activists today protested outside the Ministry of Petroleum in New Delhi against the ever-increasing inflation, LPG cylinder and petrol diesel prices in the country. Raising anti government slogans expressing their protest against the spiralling inflation like Acche Din Kahan Gaye, Modi Sarkar muradabad holding playcards and gas cylinders in their hands n over shoulders, hundreds of Youth Congress activists accused the BJP led government of over burdening the already distressed countrymen due to the uncontrollable prise rise in Gas cylinders and petro products. They also courted arrests while raising slogans defying the prohibitory orders.

Addressing the youth Congress activists the IYC chief Srinivas BC said that the Modi government came to power by showing big dreams to the countrymen, but today it has become difficult for the poor to buy expensive cylinders.

He added that the Inflation is increasing continuously as the price of gas cylinder has also ready gone beyond ₹ 900. Similarly, the prices of petrol and diesel are also on fire. Inflation is going above the sky and the government is not ready to listen to the call of the poor people said IYC chief.

Accusing the BJP led NDA government of making the life of the masses miserable, difficult to survive IYC chief Srinivas said that the price of LPG cylinder has again increased by ₹ 25, with this the price of LPG cylinder in the capital Delhi now going up to ₹ 884.50. He questioned : What is the Modi government doing is, punishing the public by continuously increasing the prices of LPG cylinders? The price of gas cylinder has increased by up to ₹190. Modi government has become very expensive for the country and the countrymen. Petrol and diesel are the most expensive in India as compared to neighbouring countries, and Modi ji is saying that the country is changing for the betterment of countrymen angered IYC chief said.

Youth Congress president Srinivas BV also said that the only and only Modi government and its anti- people policies are responsible for the troubles that have been overburdened the already burdened countrymen making their survival difficult due to uncontrollable inflation. People who fill their treasury by putting the common man in trouble have forgotten that very soon they too have to go to the public court and face the consequences at the hustings.
This is Modi ji’s promise of ‘Acche Din’ by increasing the oil tax under the ‘Janloot programme’. Even after this loot, there are only hollow promises on the part of the people,. The ruling party should stop looting the people he added.

Youth Congress leader Rahul Rao said that the prices of gas cylinders have increased more than double during the Modi government as compared to the Manmohan Singh government. People are being trapped in the vicious cycle of inflation by showing the dream of good days. The national general secretary of Indian Youth Congress and Delhi In-charge Bhaiya Pawar, Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress President Rannvijay Singh Lochav, including many youth Congress workers were also present in the protest. In the protest, many Youth Congress colleagues were detained by the police and taken to Mandir Marg police station.
