Even before the arrival of monsoon, the incessant last three days raining in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh has created quite a Havoc with massive landslides arriving, bridges collapsing , house demolishing and roads completely shut down due to caving in and being destroyed, several developing cracks and loss of human lives due to boulders falling in running vehicles smashing them completely etc.













According to the news coming in, at Mandi Himachal Pradesh a part of a huge rocky mountain has fallen down over a newly built tunnel during the four lane work going on. The landslides was so massive that hundreds of workers had to run away to save their lives amid tins of dust and boulders falling downwards with cranes, JCB etc completely damaged. It will take several days to bring things to the previous position as the traffic too has jammed completely die to lakhs of tonnes of stones, dust, silt and muck blocking the tunnel and the road etc. Some spent the night inside the tunnel. Heavy damage has occurred in the Karsog area of Mandi after cloudburst. A cloudburst has occurred in Sayathi village of Dharampur in Mandi. Only debris is visible where a two-story building once stood. After heavy rain in Himachal, houses have been flooded. Many houses have also been evacuated. A landslide has occurred in Bagsiyad in Siraj Valley of Mandi. Houses in the village have been severely damaged. After heavy rain in Himachal, vehicles have also been damaged in the flood. Many vehicles are buried in debris. Though the landslide happen usually during the rainy seasons but it shouldn’t be forgotten that the mountains cracks are created and subsequent landslides arrive since the mountains become weak due to the use of dynamites during explosions of e cky mountains or through other means making the mountains hollow from inside and therefore extremely weak. There have also be massive landslide in Uttarakhand’s Pauri after heavy rainfall. Even in Himachal Pradesh Cloudburst hits Himachal’s Mandi, houses and vehicles swept away in the overflooding g gh tides of water.
Monsoon rains are coming in almost majority of the states. However in the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, it has been raining heavily for the last 3 days which resulted in Clouds burst at 4 places in Mandi, Himachal in which several vehicles were washed away along with the bridge in Kuklah. Here, after the landslide, the debris of the hill fell on the tunnel built on the Manali-Mandi four-lane highway. In Uttarakhand Red alert has been issued due to heavy rains. The Yamunotri Highway has been closed due to landslides and washing away of some portions near Silai Band and Ojri in Uttarkashi district. Work is rapidly underway to restore the fully damaged route. According to another news the entire mountain has come onto the road at (Gumkhal (Bairgaon village) on the Pauri-Kotdwar National Highway. The highway has been closed for 24 hours due to massive landslide. News is also coming about the landslide coming near Gauchar Bandkhand on Badrinath National Highway. As a result the huge Debris has fallen on the road. After the landslide, a several kilometer long traffic jam has formed on the road going to Badrinath according to Bhaskar news.
Due to heavy rain in Uttarakhand on Sunday, a hotel collapsed near Silai Band on Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi in which 29 workers were believed to be missing in the accident, out of which 20 have been rescued. 2 workers have died.
