There are reports of alleged communal tensions breaking out in Nainital after a news appeared that a 60 year old man of minority community allegedly committed sexual assault of a minor girl of twelve years old. The news enraged the local residents as well as people of the surroundings triggering vandalism and protests in Nainital an otherwise serene and beautiful hill station packed during the summers by tourists from entire country and abroad. According to a video posted in social media enraged people are seen thrashing people and even hitting the shops with sticks. The situation being tense the police department have deputed a large number of policemen in the area to avoid further escalation of tension between the two communities. The name of the culprit is Osman and is sixty years old, a contractor by profession accused of sexually molesting a twelve years old innocent minor. The police have arrested the culprit and is being interrogated. The minor girl has been taken by the women police for medical examination to confirm about the alleged sexual molestation. After the medical report confirms the charges, the culprit will be charged under relevant acts of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.
