Supreme Court reserves order on the petition filed by Congress leader Pawan Khera

The Supreme Court has on Thursday, 30 th April reserved the order on the petition of Congress leader Pawan Khera filed by him against the order of Guwahati High Court challenging it after the HC turn down his anticipatory bail against the FIR lodged in a police station against the Congress leader on the complaint of the Assam chief minister’s wife. According to the latest news the Supreme Court on Thursday (April 30) heard a petition filed by Congress leader Pawan Khera challenging the Gauhati High Court order dismissing his anticipatory bail plea in a criminal case filed by the Assam Police related to alleged remarks against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife. A bench of Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Atul S. Chandurkar, who heard the matter on April 30, reserved its order on the petition.
Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing in Kheda’s defense, cited Himanta Biswa Sarma’s statements like “I will make you a Peda.” Singhvi said, “The issue is not about the veracity of the allegations. The motive seems clear: to humiliate by detaining.” the CONGRESS leader.
