Commercial gas cylinder hiked by Rs. 993. Will adversely impact countrymen .

In view of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing war between US, Israel and Iran which is currently at a feeble stage though India was allowed to clear its crude, gas ships , the prices of the commercial 19 kg gas cylinders in India have been increased by Rs.993 per cylinder with rates differing from state to state.
It was though expected earlier after the war between the three countries started but the earlier increase was feeble, bearable. People however, were expecting the rise after the end of elections in five states and that happened today with this maximum surge in the price of commercial cylinders impacting negatively the consumers of the country , a clear signal of further inflation, especially to overburder the middle and lower middle class and the worst to those living at the grass roots in rural areas.
In Delhi the rates of the 19 Kg commercial cylinder would now be Rs. 30 71.50, in Mumbai:3, 0240, Kolkata: र3, 202 and
Chennai: र3. 237.
In addition the 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders were also hiked by 261.
Since the commercial cylinders are usually and primarily used in the Industrial production, five star, seven stars and all the luxurious hotels, restaurants, Dhabas, eateries and in entire hospitality industry, this massive increase will adversely impact the inflation going further higher breaking the already fatigued back of the consumers as the prices of all the commodities, directly or indirectly will be affected immensely.
Since the black marketing of comercial and domestic cylinders already exist massively at the behest of the domestic gas cylinder suppliers clandestinely and fradulantly lessening the gas in the domestic cylinders and then selling at exorbitant prices to restaurants, Dhabas and tobsmall industrial units etc will also adversely impact the domestic consumers.
Everyone knows that Commercial cylinders are designed to handle high consumption, offering a clean-burning fuel option for industrial tasks and commercial
kitchens.
It may be recalled that this is the second time surge in the rates of the commercial gas cylinder since April with increase in the domestic cylinder as well.
In March 7 the commercial cylinders rates were increased by Rs.115 per cylinder and the domestic cylinder by Rs 50 each.
As of May 2026 the price of the commercial cylinder now costs Rs.3071.50 in Delhi, the national capital.
Despite this increase in commercial cylinders the prices of domestic cylinders , petrol and diesal have remained static which under the present international scenerio seems to be a huge relief though it’s for sure that the consumers will have to keep their spending tight as the eatables, restaurant and hotel items especiall meals and snacks would be costlier including the products manufactured by the industries consuming gas on wider scale.
