Samajwadi Party extends support to AAP in Delhi. Will not contest.

The Samajwadi Party is not contesting from Delhi. It has accorded open support to the AAM ADMI PARTY. The party supremo and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav has catagorically said that Delhi is of AAP and the AAP government led by Arvind Kejrival has done marvellous work in Delhi. We will not contest on any seat and extend our whole hearted support to AAM ADMI PARTY in Delhi.

This announcement was made by the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav yesterday in a massive public meeting of Delhi government’s Lok Adalat where thousands were people were present.

It may be recalled that Delhi has a sizeable population of minorities ( Muslims) in Delhi and Samajwadi Party has good hold among them as well as backward communities.

Had Samajwadi Party made its candidate contest in Delhi elections , obviously from backward, muslim and Dalit dominated constituencies, if not in all assembly segments, it would definitely had affected the AAP candidates chances, adversely.

However, the Congress and AAP fighting separately in Delhi elections have also compelled the minorities to think deeply as to which way they have to tilt this time.

But AAP having the upper say in Delhi politics and among its electorates it is believed that the Muslim votes including those living at the lowest echelons of the society in Delhi are going to vote for Arvind Kejrival and his AAP party , though Congress party too is trying hard to make a dent.

After Samajwadi Party’s open support to AAP exclusively and not to Congress in Delhi it has definitely enhanced the morale of AAP and demoralised the Congress party, especially because both are the important partners of the India National Inclusive Developmental Alliance.

The elections of Delhi are due for February though the election commission has not declared the dates so far.

The Aam Admi Party which is ruling in Delhi for the last more than ten years, for the third term has already declared its candidates on all the seventy seats even obliging those former MLAs of Congress and BJP who had joined AAP recently cutting the tickets of its sitting lawnakers.

It has this time cut the tickets of nearly twenty sitting MLAs who had not performed well in their respective constituencies. Even two of its former ministers and present deputy speaker Vidhan Sabha Manish Sisodia and Rakhi Bidlan have been shifted to Jangpura and Madipur fearing defeats from their previous constituencies.

The Congress party has declared its first list with only 21 candidates. However, the BJP which is out of power in Delhi since 1998 and trying its best to re – stage a come back in the national capital, failing everytime, has not declared its list till now.

This unambiguously means that the saffron party which is trying its best to downgrade and degrade AAP in Delhi is itself apprehensive of losing this time as well.

The AAM ADMI Party has this time given tickets to five muslims candidates, eleven women candidates and from all sections of the society except keeping the Uttarakhandies out n cutting the tickets of twenty sitting MLAs.
