FULDEYI FESTIVAL is celebrated every year in Uttarakhand on the occasion of Baisakhi festival from 15 March to 14 April.
During these days the village girls in a group every morning pluck fresh flowers and go to every house to place these flowers at the doorstep and also wish the household owner ” Happy Fooldeyi”. In return they give some money to these little girls as a mark of gesture. It goes on for a month every morning spreading the fragrance of flowers in every house, every morning.
This festival symbolises affection, harmony and togetherness which has been celebrated since ancient times.
In the national capital territory too the Uttarakhand community observe this festival though not on a wide scale.
Prithvi Rawat (former RWA President), former member of Garhwali Kumaoni Jaunsari Language Academy, Delhi Government and Puja Bhatt and Sangeeta Goswami, Cultural Secretaries of Uttarakhand Adarsh Samiti, Vijay Bisht etc are continuously making efforts to promote the festivals and culture of Uttarakhand in the country’s capital Delhi.
This culture, which is getting extinct due to migration in the villages of Uttarakhand state, has been preserved in Delhi Dwarka for the last one and a half decade by little children in the form of Goddess, by placing Phuladi yellow flowers on the doorsteps of people from 15th March till Bikhote i.e. Baisakhi on 14th April and praying for the happiness and prosperity of all, and wishing everyone Phuldehi and Baisakhi Sanatani New Year.
उत्तराखंड में बैसाखी के अवसर पर हर साल 15 मार्च से 14 अप्रैल तक फुलदेई उत्सव मनाया जाता है।
इन दिनों गांव की लड़कियां समूह बनाकर हर सुबह ताजे फूल तोड़कर घर-घर जाती हैं और घर के मुखिया को फूलदेई की शुभकामनाएं देती हैं। फूलदेई के बदले में घरवाले उन्हें कुछ पैसे देते हैं। यह सिलसिला एक महीने तक चलता है और हर सुबह हर घर में फूलों की खुशबू बिखेरता है।
यह त्योहार स्नेह, सद्भाव और एकता का प्रतीक है और प्राचीन काल से मनाया जाता रहा है।
उत्तराखंड में भी लोग इस त्योहार को मनाते हैं, हालांकि उतने बड़े पैमाने पर नहीं।
पृथ्वी रावत (आरडब्ल्यूए के पूर्व अध्यक्ष), गढ़वाली कुमाऊनी जौनसारी भाषा अकादमी के पूर्व सदस्य, दिल्ली सरकार, और उत्तराखंड आदर्श समिति की सांस्कृतिक सचिव पूजा भट्ट और संगीता गोस्वामी, विजय बिष्ट आदि देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में उत्तराखंड के त्योहारों और संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के लिए निरंतर प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
उत्तराखंड राज्य के गांवों में पलायन के कारण लुप्त होती जा रही इस संस्कृति को पिछले डेढ़ दशक से दिल्ली के द्वारका में छोटे बच्चे देवी के रूप में पूज्य फूल चढ़ाकर संरक्षित कर रहे हैं। वे 15 मार्च से लेकर बिकते यानी बैसाखी (14 अप्रैल) तक लोगों के द्वारों पर पीले फूल (फुलाड़ी) रखकर सभी के सुख-समृद्धि की कामना करते हैं और सभी को फुलदेही और बैसाखी की सनातन नववर्ष की शुभकामनाएं देते हैं।
