PEOPLE TERRIFIED IN RELIEF CAMPS AND RAPED VICTIMS’ MOTHER WANT IMMEDIATE JUSTICE SAY ADHIR RANJAN AND KANIMOJHI MPS FROM MANIPUR

A 21 member delegation of MPs of both houses of INDIA from multiple political parties had reached Imphal today from where they went to various relief camps via chopper to Chura Chandrapur district where fifteen thousand people are camping in over three hundreds relief camps.

The Congress MP and leaders Tarun Gogoi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary including other MPs talked to several victims and their families.

The leader of DMK and MP Mrs Kanimojhi met the traumatised mother of the raped victims and was in tremendous pain expressing the unending plight of a distressed mother who had watched her daughter being harassed and raped and losing her husband and son on the same day.

The delegation of the Members of parliament of “INDIA ” also met the Kuki and Meity community people and tried to console them and establish peace and tranquility.

Speaking to ANI the Assam MP from Congress Gaurav Gogoi, son of former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi said that there are thousands of suffering people in the camps whom they met, They are still terrified. He questioned where is peace and tranquility as stated by the state government and BJP leaders. Had there been peace and tranquillity why would the people be living in relief camps in such a large number and in distress. He said in a single district relief camp there are 15000 sufferers in pain. Why are they here if everything is alright questioned Gogoi.

He asked why is prime minister Sir not visiting Manipur, they are levelling charges on us, but we are here and they are not coming to strife torn Manipur despite repeated requests. He urged prime minister to visit Manipur with his own delegation and we will also be the part of it said Gogoi.

The Congress MP from West Bengal Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that we are not here to play politics. We want to establish peace here. We want to apply balm on the wounds of the victims. The people in the relief camps are badly terrified and do not want to talk or reveal anything. Their faith in the government has been fully lifted.

They know that they won’t receive any help from them said Adhir Ranjan as per the tweet of Congress party. The Manipur Governor Ansuiya Uieke is also visiting various relief camps and meeting the women sufferers in pathetic and deplorable condition and distributing food and chocolates to them and their children.

She is interacting and enhancing their morale lifting infants on her lap and boosting the morale of the victims. Meanwhile, as per the latest news a massive rally was taken out in Imphal today with thousands of people holding play cards in their hands raising slogans against the demands of Kukis for separate administration.

According to Indian Express Tens of thousands of demonstrators from five valley districts have participated in this protest demonstration organised by Coordination Committee of Manipur Integrity.

The 21 MPs’ delegation are on strife torn Manipur visit for two days 29 and 30 July and would be coming to Delhi with a fact finding report meeting cross section of the people affected by violence in Manipur including meeting the families and victims of the rape victims tabling their report in both houses of parliament and the media.
