Veteran filmmaker and actor Dev Anand’s only son, Sunil Anand, passed away in London due to a heart attack. The news was shared over the phone by Ketan Anand, Dev Anand’s nephew and Sunil’s cousin.

According to Ketan Anand, Sunil was traveling from Los Angeles to Mumbai via London. After having dinner in London, he complained of chest pain and stopped at a hospital in the city for a check-up. He was diagnosed with a heart attack. During treatment at the hospital, he suffered another cardiac arrest and passed away. Sunil was alone at the hospital at the time. His mother, Kalpana Kartik, and his sister were in Mumbai. In a tragic coincidence, this was the same hospital where Dev Anand had passed away around 15 years ago during treatment.

Sunil Anand had celebrated his 70th birthday on June 30. He acted in films such as _Anand Aur Anand, Main Tere Liye, Car Thief and Master. However, he did not achieve the same level of success as his father. Dev Anand was one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and stylish actors, and also made a mark as a director and producer. Sunil’s demise has cast a pall of gloom over the film industry, with several actors and colleagues expressing condolences to the family.
