Both houses of Parliament stalled till Monday, suspended MP pass night outside Parliament in mosquito nets, Smriti Irani meets president !

Amid the prevailing confusion and stalling of both the houses of parliament on the controversial statements of Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and subsequent statements of vociferous union minister Smriti Irani demanding apologies from Sonia Gandhi and Ranjan accusing them of insulting the dignity of the president including suspension of 31 MPs etc sitting on Dharna outside parliament House in protest of their suspension the proceedings have been stalled/ postponed till Monday.

Yesterday after the hard hitting statements of Smriti Irani and her alleged arguments with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the parliament corridor when she was speaking to the MP Rama Devi who chaired the session , pleading that Adhir Ranjan had already sought apology, Smriti Irani unnecessarily intervened again compelling Sonia Gandhi retorting that she do not want to talk to her.

Meanwhile, the Union finance minister Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman too demanded apologies from Sonia Gandhi again adding fuel to fire especially when Adhir Ranjan of Congress has publicly sought apology and has also sought an appointment with the president to personally tender his apology saying that since his hindi is not good he had unintentionally and inadvertently pronounced her as Rashtrapatni.

Meanwhile, the Dharna of the suspended MPs which continued till today has now been revoked but the Union Minister Smriti Irani met the president Mrs Draupadi Murmu along with minister of state Dr. Munjpara and MP John Barla and termed the meeting as just a courtesy call.

The parliamentary affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi while speaking to the media said that instead of apologising for his insulting comments on President Murmuji, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary is defending whatever he has done. He further tweeted that Congress president Sonia Gandhi should come forward and tender an apology. Ridiculing the Dharna of the suspended MPs Prahalad Joshi said that while protesting under the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Parliament vicinity these MPs are consuming chicken in the name of protest. Leave aside the discussion on important issue it has become a practice for Congress to insult the national icon said Joshi.

on the other hand one of the protesting suspended Congress MP Manickam Tagore tweeted : There are mosquitoes in Parliament precincts, but opposition MPs are not afraid. Save the blood of Indians in Parliament . The MPs passed the night by lightening the mosquito coils. They slept the whole night at the parliament precincts under the mosquito net tweeted Manickam. It may be recalled that several suspended MPs of Congress staged Dharna yesterday night as well sleeping under mosquito nets with lightening the mosquito coils. At Dehradun several Aam Admi Party activists staged a Dharna cum demonstration under Dr. Ambedkar Statue in a park registering their protests against the arbitrary suspension of their MP Sanjay Singh terming the action as anti constitutional stifling the Democratic and constitutional right of MPs to voice their dissent against the ruling party in burning public issues. Hundreds of Congress leaders and activists too protested in Uttarakhand on Friday raising slogans against union minister Smriti Irani for misbehaving with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in Parliament. They shouted slogans like ” Shame on Smriti Irani and anti BJP slogans.
