WFI’s BIGGEST HURDLE CLEARED AFTER Commonwealth GOLD MEDALIST NARSINGH YADAV ELECTED AS WFI’s Athlete panel’s chief

It seems that the wrestling federation’s long standing skirmishes have finally come to a permanent end after the former Gold medalist of Commonwealth Games in Wrestling champion Narsingh Yadav champion whom even the jailed Olympic Gold winner Sushil tried to betray number of times became the Wrestling Federation of India’s Athlete panels chief on Wednesday. His becoming the president of Wrestling Federation of India’s athlete’s panel has also resulted in fulfilling the official mandatory formality of World Wrestling Federation which controls WFI. According to the news the World Wrestling body had while keeping aside the suspension of the WFI said that Wrestling Federation lead by the outgoing chief Sanjay Singh ( suspended) needs to constitute an Athlete Commission to investigate the complaints of the Wrestlers. There were 8 contenders for seven posts in the race and after voting seven were elected. After this, they duly elected the president Narsingh Yadav, the former ( 2016) Commonwealth Gold winner in Wrestling. It may be recalled that Olympic Gold Winner Sushil Kumar was always against Narsingh Yadav who came into lime light in 2016 when Sushil urged for a trial competition against him especially when he couldn’t play the Qualifications tournament due to an injury. Sushil then approached the Delhi High court which was quashed finally allowing Narsingh Rao to participate in Rio Olympics. But what was surprising and shocking that Narsingh Rao failed in two of the doping tests conducted before going to Rio. He was therefore disqualified for four years.This was actually allegedly managed by his distractions. After his protests and media reports the national anti doping agency after necessary tests found him clear of any accusations saying that he was the victim of a pre strategic conspiracy clearing him of all charges of doping. In the month of July 2020 he was freed of the doping charges with the Commonwealth Gold medalist accusing his detractors for hatching a conspiracy to degrade his image . Apart from Narsingh Yadav’s election as the chief of the Athlete panels/ commission the other elected members are Sahil from Delhi, Smita A.S. from Kerala, Bharatiya Bhagoi from Uttar Pradesh, Khushbu S Pawar from Gujarat , Nikki from Haryana and Shweta Dubey from Bengal etc.
