Dehradun police cracks blind murder case with 12 hours , wife and lover arrested

Dehradun Police on Friday claimed to have cracked the blind murder case reported from Manduwala under Premnagar police station within 12 hours, arresting the deceased’s wife and her lover for allegedly killing her husband.

The body of 38-year-old Madan Mukhiya was recovered from a gorge in a forest near Dolphin College on October 3 with sharp-edged weapon injuries on his neck.

During investigation, police found that the deceased’s wife Meena Devi, 30, had been in a relationship with a 23-year-old youth, Lallan Sharma, a native of Saharsa, Bihar, for the past two to three years. According to police, the deceased had come to know about the affair and had threatened to kill both of them and expose their relationship.

Police said that following this, the duo hatched a conspiracy. Meena allegedly took Madan to the forest in Manduwala on the pretext of offering him liquor, where Lallan also reached. In an inebriated condition, they allegedly attacked him with a knife and killed him before dumping his body into the gorge.

Police have arrested both accused, Lallan Sharma and Meena Devi, wife of deceased Madan Mukhiya, and recovered the knife used in the crime. Police said the accused were tracked with the help of CCTV footage and informer network. A case under relevant sections has been registered at Premnagar police station and further investigation is underway.
