Mansi Devi of Uttarakhand has brought laurels for the country raising the nation’s name in the world by her outstanding performance in World University Games winning the Bronze Medal. The entire credit for this outstanding achievement goes to Mansi for her incessant commitment, dedication and devotion towards her passion in Walking Race . Her commitment and dedication despite not getting the expected cooperation from necessary quarters Mansi of Chamoli, Garhwal finally proved her mettle in China, Chendgu, winning Bronze in 20 metre Walk RACE international competition, a rare feat of a girl belonging to the interiors of Chamoli Garhwal. While entire Uttarakhand is proud of Mansi for this outstanding feat in global games bringing laurels for the country and her state, the Uttarakhand chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami and former chief minister Harish Rawat heartily congratulated her. Mansi had complaints about his state ‘s sports ministry that she had to go to Punjab as the state has during the past five years allocated her merely Rs. 1.36 lakhs whereas the minister Rekha Arya put this figure to Rs 2.35 lakhs which was contradicted by her. She said that she has received only two track suits. Today however, she is being lauded by Uttarakhand but one shouldn’t forget that there had been several complaints in the past about the state government’s negligence towards athletes and games if compared from other states who are rendering better facilities to various sports, sportsmen etc.
