Urgent APPEAL: SAVE SONAM WANGCHUK, JNU STUDENT NEHA BORA AND SIX OTHERS

New Delhi

As is Sonam Wangchuk the JNU student Neha Bora and five others have been on a water-only fast for the last 19 days.

According to Mumbai-based psychiatrist Dr. Anjali Chhabria, who examined her, Neha’s condition is extremely critical.

Her immunity has dropped drastically. Uric acid levels are very high. Due to very low blood sugar, the risk of infection and organ failure has increased manifold. Doctors have warned that she can slip into a coma or face life-threatening complications at any moment.

Neha herself says “breath and hope are still left.”

We appeal to the JNU administration, Delhi Government, and AIIMS Delhi to immediately intervene and provide emergency medical care under specialist supervision. After 19 days of water fasting, refeeding must be done carefully to avoid “Refeeding Syndrome”. ICU-level monitoring is urgently required.

We also request that her family be informed immediately.

We stand with Sonam Wangchuk and Neha Bora. We pray for their health and safety.

Protest is a democratic right, but saving a life comes first. Please act now before it is too late.

Our prayers for Neha and Sonam Wangchuk including six other hunger strikers recovery
