A most tragic news is coming in from Nepal. The tragedy occured in the Taanahun district of Aaina mountains where a tourist bus from India heading towards Kathmandu fell into a deep gorge 150 metres below killing about twenty seven passengers out of total 43 travelling in the bus. There were in all 43 passengers including a driver and conductor. The tourist bus was heading for Kathmandu from a Pokhra resort. This information was revealed by the Indian embassy on its social media handle X : @IndiainNepal is grieved to confirm death of 27 Indians in the unfortunate road accident in Tanahun. Remaining 16 passengers have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment at TU Teaching Hospital. Embassy mourns the loss of lives & prays for early recovery of the injured. Embassy of India in Kathmandu further adds that it continues to be in constant touch with local authorities and the hospital staff for treatment of the injured and earliest repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased to India.
Prime minister Narendra Modi has on X expressed his deepest condolences on this tragedy . He wrote in X : Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road mishap in Tanahun district, Nepal. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest. The Indian Embassy is providing all possible assistance to those affected said PM Modi on his social media handle X.
