Those who stood by the ultra rich, lost and those who fought for the poor, won in Karnataka says Rahul Gandhi in his first press briefing

PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Congress party for their victory in the Karnataka Assembly polls. My best wishes to them in fulfilling people's aspirations tweeted PM.

After the bumper victory of Congress party in Karnataka the former president Rahul Gandhi today congratulated and thanked the electorates of Karnataka including the Congress leaders and workers for voting and working hard to make Congress triumphed in the state assembly elections.

Addressing a crowded press conference with hundreds of enthusiastic workers too present including leaders like Jai Ram Ramesh, Pawan Khera and former union minister Pawan Bansal etc at the lawns of 24 Akbar Road looking extremely jubilant – the Nehru Gandhi family scion said that this is the victory of harmony, love and affection over hatred.

The market of hatred had been bulldozed by the electorates and the shops of love, harmony and affection has been opened in Karnataka said, Rahul Gandhi.

Answering to questions by the media Rahul Gandhi said there were two forces at work – one on the side of crony capitalists, the ultra rich and another represented by poor people.

In Karnataka, the poor working class has defeated the forces represented by ultra rich said Rahul Gandhi and this will happen in every state of the country from now onwards.

Rahul Gandhi said in Karnataka, Congress stood up with the poor, hapless working class and fought these elections on the burning issues of the poor.

What impressed me the most is the fact that the Congress fought this election with love and affection not using any bad language against anyone, our rivals and arrived at the conclusion that people voted for us leading to massive victory not siding with hatred but love and affection.

We had promised to fulfil five main promises after Congress government comes to power and I assure you that the first work that our government will do is to implement these five promises in the first cabinet meeting after the Congress CM and government is sworn in.

Responding to volley of media questions Rahul Gandhi repeated that the hatred market has been closed and shops of love and affection have been opened in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and BJP national chief J. P. Nadda in their respective tweets thanked the people of Karnataka, leaders and activists of BJP for their hard work and support extended to them.

Through a tweet prime minister Narendra Modi said : I thank all those who have supported us in the Karnataka elections. I appreciate the hard work of BJP karyakartas. We shall serve Karnataka with even more vigour in the times to come. In another tweet PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Congress party for their victory in the Karnataka Assembly polls. My best wishes to them in fulfilling people’s aspirations tweeted PM.

Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh mayoral elections and Punchayat as well as Nagarpalika the BJP has won in all Mayoral seats and registered victory in majority of the Nagarpalika, Punchayat seats with SP, BSP coming second and third and Congress distant fourth. The Union home minister Amit Shah has in his tweet congratulated the BJP leaders and workers of UP and said that it is the victory of prime minister Narendra Modi’s charismatic leadership and the good works done by the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanathji. He also thanked his party leaders and workers of Karnataka including electorates for their support and cooperation.
