The three MPs from Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal and Haridwar congratulate Garhwal Heroes Football Club on 6th Delhi Soccer Championship win

The three members of parliament from Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal and Haridwar — Anil Baluni, Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah and Trivendra Singh Rawat — congratulated the Garhwal Heroes Football Club for winning the prestigious Delhi Soccer (Football) Championship for the sixth time this year despite having limited funds and resources. The club also won the runners-up cup in the national football championships held in Pauri last month.
In a function held at the residence of Pauri Garhwal MP and National Media In-charge of the saffron party Anil Baluni, who has been made the Chief Patron of Garhwal Heroes, Baluni said that when he was quite young and after his father died in an accident in Delhi, they struggled a lot.
“During those days I used to hear about Garhwal Heroes Football Club playing with reputed teams like Mohun Bagan etc and I watched one of the matches also. I am proud to say that in 1953 this club was formed by late Kesar Singh Negi and now it has climbed several citadels of progress, becoming the Delhi Soccer champion 6 times,” he said.
He assured that all three MPs from Garhwal will help the Garhwal Heroes Football Club to the best of their ability and ensure that poor and deserving students from Garhwal and Uttarakhand are trained under the aegis of Garhwal Heroes to give them opportunities to become regional and national players.
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat heartily congratulated the Garhwal Heroes players and those who supported it financially and otherwise. He said, “Very soon in the future I will host a dinner for you at my house. I have been constantly watching the progress of Garhwal Heroes and as MPs we will do our best to support this club wholeheartedly along with the rest of the Garhwal MPs.” He also referred to the strong and cohesive unity among the Garhwalies and Uttarakhand’s in Punjab, Chandigarh and Jallandhar etc and saud that they have been doing a laudable work in social contribution and bringing our community on the plank of massive development.
Tehri Garhwal MP Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah also congratulated Garhwal Heroes for their outstanding achievements, especially the girls’ team, and assured that she too will host a party at her residence in the near future.
