While entire Uttarakhand is in shock after the tragic demise of the entire family of Sunil Gusain , the resident of Faridabad Achiever Society, Sector 49, the entire media is reaching their home locked with the golden name plate “Gusains” after the shocking news of the entire family being wiped out in a heartwrenching tragic accident reached the social media going tremendously viral including the electronic and print media publishing it to the core.
The address of the unfortunate house of its late owner Sunil Gusain is 4580 A. When the media reached his house in achievers society there was no one to be found with the precincts giving an isolated look.
One of the mediaman talked to the neighbour of the dead family – a senior citizen who disclosed that Sunil Gusain purchased this THAR vehicle on Navratri and the family was thrilled. This was their first trip to Garhwal Uttarakhand. While leaving for the marriage of their one of the close relatives at Rudraprayag he handed over the keys of the house to him ( neighbour) requesting to look after it not knowing that a heart wrenching tragedy is in store for the entire family just after few hours , who will never be back again to their magnificent house.
The old neighbour said that he had categorically advised Sunil Gusain not to embark on the night journey as this may be risky but he continued with it. Gusain however, told him not to worry as they will take rest in Roorkee ( night stay) at the house of his sister in law.
The family consisted of two sons below 14 years husband and wife who drove the whole night and instead of taking rest at Roorkee preferred to take with them the sister of his wife and the nephew.
Had he and the family halted at Roorkee and started in the morning the other day after at least few hours sleep , the fatal accident could have been avoided said the neighbour of late Sunil Gusain and the dreaded tragedy averted but it seems that this shocking tragedy had to happen being pre destined.
It may be recalled that the family of four consisting of Sunil Gusain, his wife and two sons started in Thar happily two days ago from Faridabad and inbetween at Roorkee he took his sister in law and the nephew along and instead of halting there and taking rest he desperately continued his journey incessantly to avoid the traffic Jam at Rishikesh during noon in order to reach the marriage venue before time. This desperation proved fatal for the entire family as the owner- driver of the THAR Sunil Gusain was feeling sleepy and while driving took repeated naps resulting in the worst tragedy of their lives with the THAR falling 300 metres down in Alaknanda river near Mulya village in Garhwal on Devprayag – Badrinath road in which while the entire family of four and one nephew died, the sister in law who was sitting in the back seat was lucky enough to come out as the doors of the THAR opened and she climbed on the back portion of the submerged THAR.
It is said that since those sitting in the front seat were tied with seat belts they couldn’t open it resulting in going down with the car including those in the central seat. May be had their seat belts not tied they could have tried to jump elsewhere.
The news spread like wild fire and the SDRF, Devprayag police came into action mode and divers after extensive search could locate the dead bodies.
However, the only survivor woman was taken out safely and set to hospital for immediate treatment.
This is the worst tragedy of the recent times when the entire family has been wiped out in this tragic heart wrenching accident. RIP.
