Rahul Gandhi not allowed to reach Almora and Pauri via chopper due to bad weather. Thousands who waited till hear their leader were demoralised
The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi who was to address two consecutive public meetings in Almora and Pauri, Garhwal could do so as the pilot of the chopper didn’t give him permission to take up from the Pamt Nagar airport.
The Uttarakhand Congress president Ganesh Godiyal who was accompanying Rahul Gandhi tried his best to contact and seek permission from the concerned authorities to fly the chopper to Almora and Pauri but the permission was denied despite the hard fact that thousands of the people were anxiously waiting for their leader at Almora and Pauri.
At Pant Nagar Helipad Rahul Gandhi was seen roaming around worried expecting the permission but all in vain. The reason for not allowing him to land was the inclement weather. Rahul however, promised that he will come to Uttarakhand again to meet and address the audience innthe near future.
This was Rahul Gandhi’s Uttarakhand visit after three years. However, Rahul Gandhi addressed the people at the Rally in Ankita and Pauri from his Delhi resident with Ganesh Godiyal requesting him to address the people in line. A big screen was enacted immediately and people heard leader of the opposition’s speech electronically.
At Almora Simkani ground arrangements were made for a crowd of thirty thousand people and in Pauri, Ransi ground thousands of the people were anxiously waiting for their leader but all in vain. In Almora after a long wait when the audience got the news about Rahul not coming they started leaving the venue but Sheija, the senior leader and Harish Rawat were on the stage requesting people to hear Rahul Gandhi’s address.
Rahul Gandhi sought apology saying that he had reached Pant Nagar but wasn’t allowed to land at Almora.
He assured the audience that he will come to them in the near future and meet them personally. He emphasized that there is a DNA of patriotism and nationalism in every Uttarakhandi and they are the born saviours. They are always ready to sacrifice their blood and self for the safety and security of the country and its constitution.
He accused the BJP for running the government from Delhi and the outsiders are being multiply benefited from the state resources. He lauded the role of every Uttarakhandi for serving in the armed forces and serving the nation with immense patriotism and umpteen sacrifices.
Rahul Gandhi had visited Kedarnath in 2023 for paying obeisance to Lord Kedar. The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Mussourie for a night stay and thereafter to Dehradun to meet all the leaders and office bearers to boost their morale in view of the fast approaching assembly elections. He will also visit Kotdwar to meet Mohammed Deepak thereafter said the sources.
The police administration was on full alert for the proposed visit of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to Almora on June 4th. SSP Chandrashekhar Ghodke briefed the police force deployed on security duty at Soban Singh Jeena University and instructed them to ensure flawless security arrangements at the venue and route. Officers were instructed to be vigilant, arrive on time, thoroughly check each person, and avoid any kind of negligence.
