Pravesh Ratan of BJP joins AAP at the behest of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia
The Delhi assembly elections are round the corner and opportunist leaders of various political parties are changing sides to improve their political prospects. The ruling AAM ADMI party and the Bhartiya Janata Party are busy enticing the leaders of other political parties to join their parties respectively.
The AAP has suffered a huge jolt last month when its transport minster Kailash Gehlot and earlier another minister ( Transport) Mr. Anand had joined BJP accusing the leadership of AAP publicly.
However, today the AAM Admi Party received a shot in the arm when the former contestant on BJP ticket from Patel Nagar namely Pravesh Ratan joined AAP at the behest of the former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.
The elections of Delhi assembly are due for February 2024.
Earlier the former MLA from Mehrauli and BJP heavyweight in Delhi Braham Singh Tanwar had joined the AAP at the behest of the Delhi’s former chief minister and AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Similarly, the former three term MLA of Congress Inder Singh Dhingan has also joined the AAP from Congress including the sitting councillor daughter in law and son of the former three term Congress MLA from Seelampur/ Babarpur assembly constituency Mateen Ahmed.
There are reports that in order to kill the anti incumbency factor in some of the Delhi assembly seats, the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is changing the AAP candidates and is giving tickets to those who have joined AAP from BJP and Congress.
There are are reports that Pravesh Ratan who has joined AAP from BJP and had contested from Patel Nagar seat on BJP ticket but lost earlier may get the AAP ticket this time as the anti incumbency against the AAP’s sitting lawmaker in Patel Nagar is tremendous warranting change of candidate.
Joining the Aam Admi Party Pravesh Ratan said that he has joined AAP because he is impressed by the laudable works of former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Pravesh Ratan belongs to Jatav community and while appreciating Delhi government’s laudable achievements in education, power, health and water sectors he said that the children and parents of his community has majorly benefitted from the concessions accorded by the AAP Delhi government.
Pravesh Rattan had been actively associated with the Bhartiya Janata Party for the last more than two decades. It is believed that the AAP leadership may give ticket to him from Patel Nagar constituency. What is important to note here is that the former minister in Delhi government Rajkumar Anand who also hails from the JATAV community and had joined BJP is contesting from Patel Nagar constituency in BJP ticket.
After Pravesh Ratan’s joining the AAP the contest between BJP’s Anand and AAP’s Rattan will be really interesting. Prior to this , on 4 November BB Tyagi a BJP leader has joined AAP. He had been the councillor on BJP ticket and had also contested the assembly election from Lakshmi Nagar assembly seat.
